So I'm wondering what people think when comparing these two attractions. If I'm going to be totally honest, I was crushed when I saw the UP bird show because I thought it had a lot of potential to keep its mature tone but it turned a mature attraction into one that panders to kids. When Doug and Russell show up, they say absolutely nothing of substance nor are they funny. I suppose they're not as annoying as Figment but they serve no real purpose in the show. In addition to that, a lot of cool bird tricks were cut from the show to allow more time for Doug and Russell to run around talking about "their bird friend Kevin" in the least intellectual tone possible. I suppose the show is still salvageable to me as there still are some very cool segments with the birds but the addition of IP (once again..) caused a serious downgrade in quality and I'm particularly frustrated with this case because it didn't have to take that route. But unfortunately, it did.

That's what I think. What do you guys think? Do any of you guys see it differently than I do?

Just saw UP show last week. Its basically the same bird content with different schtick. Both are hokey, but the actual bird content is good. I like them both!

I agree with you completely. Every time Russel and Doug came on stage it's like we paused the real show. It would be okay of they were funny/educational/anything, but they aren't.

The optimist in me says: "Maybe the Russel and Doug parts appeal to some young kids? So the whole family gets some enjoyment?" but I doubt it, my 10-year-old did not enjoy the R&D parts

I thought the same thing. I thought it may get kids interested in the bird aspect of the show but instead they just dumbed it down

Agreed here. Our family of three enjoyed the Flights of Wonder show much better. My daughter loves Dug and she enjoyed seeing him, but the show itself is not as good as Flights of Wonder in our opinion.

I remember Flights of Wonder having a lot more birds and tricks. Like the part with an audience member holding out a dollar bill was cut completely from the show or at least the one I saw

We took a trip in early June. The family (including 4 kids 10 and under) loved Animal Kingdom 2nd only to MK- except for this bird show. I even got a fastpass+ after Disney's advertising. Wish I could get that one back. Sad little show that seemed awful when added to the Florida heat.

Flights of Wonder was one of my favorites, I am going to be extremely upset if they ruined that show. Not that that means anything to anyone except my wife and myself, and I don't even now if she would care that much if I was upset. Never mind, I will just have to except the attraction having less value than the original. Of course I haven't seen it yet so I should hold judgement. Well until I see it I still have hope.

I have a feeling it will be like 98% of all commercials though, you know where you watch or listen to the thing, they try to make it funny and there is nothing funny about it, it is just stupid and lame. Than you ask yourself, did anyone at the company listen or watch this before releasing it.

Great, now I am rambling on and on. This is what happens when I get upset.
