Flight prices for Thanksgiving trip. Is this a good price?

What's a good price for Thanksgiving week flights?
I am trying to swing thanksgiving week in WDW for our family of 4. I found jet blue tickets for $1000. We would have to cut our trip short for one day and drive 4hrs to get to the airport but we use to live in area we would flying out of so it would be fun to revisit it. Should I wait for southwest to extend their schedule to compare prices? What do you all think?

I am also thinking of renting DVC points for the first time so I would love feedback on that too!

Yes I am in a fare club so I get $10 off each checked bag so it will be $20 instead of $30 and I don't do carry-ons. Still works out to be a great price even adding on the bag fees.
I looked up Spirit. They fly out of Baltimore, but Orlando is not one of the destination choices when flying out of BWI.

Booking rates are always cheaper on Mon thru Weds for booking not flying so check rates on those days.

This is not always the case. I worked for a travel consultant and there were days when it was cheaper to book on the weekends. There is no rhyme or reason. Most of the airlines have a certain amount of "tiers" like 10 flights for $100, 10 flights for $110, etc and as the lower prices sell out, the higher prices come into play. The prices do fluctuate though. I've notcied that a lot stalking Southwest's site. But I don't always see them cheaper on a Mon, Tues or Weds.

Some of this depends on where you're flying from. For example, Houston is pretty much the most expensive major city right now and often doesn't get included in fare sales...so $250pp outta here is great. Avg air to Orlando from here these days is around $415pp  Also, Airtran is now part of SW...there are still some routes that are truly Airtran served, but most send you into the SW server and subject you to SW pricing.
