What's a good price for Thanksgiving week flights?
I am trying to swing thanksgiving week in WDW for our family of 4. I found jet blue tickets for $1000. We would have to cut our trip short for one day and drive 4hrs to get to the airport but we use to live in area we would flying out of so it would be fun to revisit it. Should I wait for southwest to extend their schedule to compare prices? What do you all think?

I am also thinking of renting DVC points for the first time so I would love feedback on that too!

If you are going to rent points try to do so ASAP they will go fast!

Cost to fly has gotten outrageous to me. In 2009 I bought 2 round-trip tickets from DFW to MCO for under $500. Today the price for that same flight is just under $1,000. And that's flying a "budget" airline...So this summer, we're driving.

Sign up for air fare watchdog. You put in your city and Orlando. I get emails.with good deals all the time. Just last week it was 187 round-trip on Delta! (Had to.travel by 11/1 though). Southwest has been steady at about 350 from here.

Seesh! Those numbers make me wanna cover my eyes!
I'm fortune enough to be able to fly commerical (frontier airlines) out of a small local airport in New Jersey to Orlando for only 80 - 100 per person round trip!
Good Luck, don't some third party sites pay you the difference if the price drops? or something like that  maybe you could use one of those.

Wow I thought I was getting a deal but maybe not. We are in upstate NY. My options for airports are Plattsburgh which is local but very small and usually only flies into Stanford. Burlington, VT which is about 90 minutes, Albany which is about a 3hr drive. Manchester NH which is about 3.5hrs. Syracuse which is around 4.5 hours but this is the airport I was thinking about flying out of bc it was $1000 and the best deal I have found so far. I was thinking airfare would go up rather than down since we are trying to get to WDW for Thanksgiving week.

I am thinking this is a very good price actually. We are in a similar small town area (lexington, ky) and flew into Burlington vt last month and the cheapest we ever got over 6months were $500/ticket.

How about drive to Manchester (we lived in Lebanon nh for 4 years) and take southwest. The southwest flights open up May 6th for that time! If you look that morning you may get some cheaper flights! Also if the flights go down then southwest will change your tickets without a penalty!

But to be honest I think you are only going to cut 200 bucks off at most.

I am so excited! I just booked our November flights! Got an awesome price.. $167 roundtrip per person!!! Flights to and from are both non-stop. Only paid $503 for 2 adults and 1 child. I cannot believe I found airfare that cheap!!!

That's pretty good! I will only book connecting flights as a last resort. That's why I like Southwest.
Out of BWI, they have nonstop flights that depart as early as 8:30am, which arrive in Orlando around 11:00am.
