Flight of Passenge problems

Although I diverge, I just have to say that IMHO, if you have a small child, I personally think it's a terrible idea to make that child wait in a 300 minute line. I don't care what the ride is, that's asking too much (what a miserable way for a kiddo to spend half a day at Disney World!)(quite frankly, what a miserable way for anyone to spend 5 hours at WDW!!). That aside, Disney should not have let a line that did not have bathrooms in it get up to a 300 minute wait. There are few people in this world who can stay properly hydrated in the Florida heat that would not also need to use the bathroom at some point over a 5-hour period. In fact, if you didn't have to use the restroom for 5 hours, then I can almost guarantee you are not getting enough water in Florida.

Back to the point, I do not think cutting in line is okay. Ideally, there would be a way for people who were in line that had to leave to use the restroom to come back and re-take their rightful position. But, there are too many scammers and cheats who would spoil this for the honest (such is life...). They should have done something akin to test track (i.e., when you go into the room where you design you car): have a line that allows groups into a "refresher" room for a period of time that has water, restrooms, etc. After 15 minutes, let that group out to form into a new line like you do in Test Track, and let the next group in. Otherwise, don't let your lines exceed a certain amount of time. It's not healthy, and you are asking for trouble because some will inevitably try to cut corners.

My 3 specific examples were actually not at Disney World.. a line is a line and a wait is a wait, no matter where you are.

In our near 3.5 hour wait, we didn't know it would be that long. The app said it was, but the employee at line beginning told us differently. Even if we had been told that it was 3 hours, as the app said, my child would still have chosen to wait.

Do not underestimate the "want" and "determination" of a child.lol. That kid waited in anticipation, for the better part of a year, for that ride to open, and to ride it on opening night. I would have waited any amount of time if he chose to do so.
That said, he did fall asleep multiple times while waiting...and I hope we never wait that long again.
I think the wait time being over 3 hours is the only reason why they let us get out of line when we did. I can't see that happening in a normal scenario.

Because it was opening night, we didn't even know where the ride was..just got in line.. I definitely didn't know that it would take us through an employee area, thru a closed attraction, wrap around a restaurant..and then up a main walkway BEFORE you even reached the actual ride queue entrance. Lol

Oh, I should add.. I did try to purchase a Fast Lane Pass.. but because it was Gold/Platinum Passholder Preview Night, they were not selling Fast Lane.. it's the only time that I would have had no hesitation in shelling out $200+ for it.

Wow, I need to add a major correction.. sorry brain freeze.. I said over 300 minute wait. I meant over 3 hours.. lol. Omg oops. Time to dye my hair brown.. ;)

No, we wouldn't have waited 300+ minutes.. I would have bribed him with something then returned the next day.lol

Unless I am mistaken, I beleve it says at the beginning of the RoP ride that there are no bathrooms. It also says, unless I am mistaken, how long the wait is for the ride. I have no problem with young children having to use the restrooms in an emergency, but I do have a problem when teenagers and adults use it for an excuse.
In none of the case over those two days did any of those people pass me to leave the line, and I was in line for at least 14-20 minutes before the first one came through the line.

If the wait is over an hour, just wait until you're in your 50s, 60s or older and see if your attitude about adults having to use a restroom. Additionally, here are any number of adults and teens with legitimate Urinary and Gastrointestinal conditions as well.

I'll agree that if they didn't go past you leaving the line, they shouldn't go past you to the front of the line.

No!!
I would expect them to leave the line, and then begin at the back of the line again. Feel free to relieve yourself prior to getting in to a 135min line.

Some people have legitimate bladder issues that make them go every hour or so. You expect them to not be able to enjoy the main attractions?

Not one of the people that came past me to the front went past me to the back. And an entire family, an two people carring drinks.
That, IMO, is never OK.

I completely agree. It happens all the time. Twice when we were in line for 7DMT.

I travel alone with my child, so I have no choice but to start over.. but if two parents and a child/children are in front of me, I wouldn't mind if they used the restroom and came back.
But if they were never in line at all- completely frustrating and extremely rude. I've watched people on their cell phones while in a line call their spouse and kids, after 30 minutes.. or more.. and tell them to come meet them once they are closer. No excuse for that behavior.

This is one issue that I think Disney needs to pick up Six Flags policy there is no line jumping allowed for any reason, no my kid had to use the restroom, my family is up there no excuse at all and they have a number you can text with a description of line jumpers and they will pull them from line.

So i could just text in that i saw you cut in line and they would come pull you out, even if you didnt?

Huh, I never thought of queue being British or Canadian. I use that all the time. Just curious what would others use instead?

As for the topic at hand, I don't get bent out of shape about one or two people getting ahead. I've had rude people try to cut through and inadvertently split up parties and that bugs me more (pushing through without care). One or two people wouldn't get me, but a group would.
I think a little compassion in life goes far. That said if you have a legit bladder/bowel problem there are things you can do to help with that. Check with disability services. That is if it is a true issue (and sometimes it is).

I also am of the "make your kid pee before" camp. We even went right after my son was potty trained and didn't have issues. We made him go.

Again though it doesn't bother me, but what I do and what I expect others to do aren't the same always.
