Flat screens at WDW resort rooms?

EVERNTUALLY all DVC and Deluxe resorts will have flat panel. AK Villas are built with flat panel TVs and the furniture for the TV area is really cool.

Also all the DVC Studios will soon have DVD players.

These things take time.

Sorry to raise a dead thread, but I was just wondering if AKL has new flat panels installed? I often think the armoire takes up too much room and the design of the new 'feature wall' with the LCD screen looks loads better.
I've tried searching but no luck!

We were at the Beach Club last week and the rooms now have them on the wall in a 'picture frame'. The large armoir has gone.

I read an article a few weeks ago about 50% of all rooms on the Las Vegas strip expected to have flat panel TVs in the rooms in the next 2 years. Wonder how long WDW will take to start converting Deluxe rooms over. I'm pretty sure the Value and Mods will be at least 4-5 years down the line. I would think if the competition is "perking" up rooms more that WDW will surely be right in line. Unless they are already doing this?? Maybe in the Poly update last year?

It really doesnt matter if you put HDTVs in. There still isn't HD service which makes the TV rather pointless.

Watching a 480p signal on a 1080p resolution TV is horrid.

So true, just got back from Coronado Springs on Saturday. They have the 32" LG's in the room, all channels were analog and looked grainy.

Many of the resorts as they are undergoing refurbs are getting flat screen TVs, which has been going on for the past several years. Many have been mentioned already above. The Boardwalk Inn (not the villas, yet) also have new flat screen TVs, which I didn't see mentioned. Off the top of my head, I know the following all have flat screen (most are LG brand) TVs (most in a new decorative armoire): Beach Club, Boardwalk Inn, Polynesian, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, All-Star family suites, Coronado, Caribbean Beach 'Pirate' rooms, and the newer DVC resorts: Bay Lake Tower, Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs and AKL DVC villas.

It really is bad... that’s why I love my PS3:) I know that when I was doing the tour of BLT I noticed that all the TVs in the rooms had a small box that you could plug an HDMI cable into that sent the signal to the TV without having to rip the TV off the wall to plug it in. Hopefully all the other deluxe resorts will do the same.
