Flash photography + dark rides...

Alright folks, I'm going to bring another controversial subject into the convo in a BIG way, so... please behave.
What if (I can't imagine this would happen, but I, for one, would LOVE it) they perfected the RFID/Magicband tech and a cast member was watching the whole ride on monitors. If anyone took a flash picture, the CM could select the guilty car and onboard audio would play a friendly reminder in the language of the rider, because their spoken language was loaded onto the guest's Magicband info.
Let's take it one step further: if the guest refused to comply, that CM could make a notation on their Magicband info saying that they had been warned regarding flash pictures. If that guest had a repeat offense on ANY future attraction that day, disciplinary action could be taken. The whole "warning/notation/discipline" lineup could also be used to take care of line-jumpers etc...
Obviously we don't have that technology YET and even if we did, Disney would never implement it to that degree, not to mention the debugging a system like that would require, but... heck, a guy can dream, right?

Better yet, if you know you have scaredy-cat kids or must be using your phone, just don't go into dark rides or movies.

Please. Thank you.

O.M.G. this needs to be a rule. if your kid is afraid of the dark, then don't bring them into a ride like Haunted Mansion or Pirates or a dark ride in Fantasyland.

if they are naturally loud kids don't take them to a movie/show or any quiet attraction, your rudeness is ruining everyone else's experience! the park isn't there to cater only to you and your family, there are other people there to have a fun time like you are!

While I am on the fence about the RFIDs being used to track anything that specific I have to admit I do like the idea of them being used to track things like warnings for following rules. It's not really that personal of a thing... it's associated with the RFID, not the person themselves... and it'd be lovely to have the folks who consistently are breaking rules and ruining experiences for those around them to have an actual consequence for it. That's ultimately the problem today... signs and CMs that say "No Flash Photography" but if you sit through an entire attraction taking flash pictures every 30 seconds, what ultimately happens to you? Nothing. Unfortunately today's world is breeding a future of people who see no reason to follow the rules because they see no consequence...

Not just rides but shows as well... I can't count the number of times it was mentioned on our last visit no flash photography before entering into voyage of the lm only to have 3 seconds after she appeared flashes begin

Although Ive been to WDW many times, and ride POTC many times on each trip, I still get ticked when people take pictures. On our last trip, I felt like I was in the worst lightning storm of my life as the guy in the seat behind me used his camera nonstop. It was like an annoying strobe light. in general, I think quite a few people check their manners at the door when the head to WDW. I guess they feel entitled to be a jerk since they are paying to be in wdw on vacation.

I always get stuck next to people who use flash photography on POTC. Every single person that I "reminded" that it was not allowed gave me a dirty look and continued doing what they wanted. It seems to be getting worse every time I go. Not only does this mess up people's eyes(I see spots for a long time after) some people will actually get seizures from this. For that reason alone I really feel like they need to strictly enforce this rule.

Bring a narrow beam LED flashlight next time and shine it right in their eyes. :D It won't really bother too many other people unless you accidentally hit them with the beam. Remeber, NO LASER POINTERS! LOL No one needs to get arrested here. :D

This has been an ongoing problem in the parks for a long time now. It often affects my trip every time i go down. and it will not stop until disney takes some serious steps to make it stop. Disney doesn't want confrontation with guests. They do not want to have to give a rude guest a refund for the day for not following the rules. so they continue to ignore the problem like it doesn't exist.
