flag retreat

Hi everyone! I SO love the information on these boards!!
I was wondering if y'all could help me out. Two years ago my Dad participated in the Flag Retreat, complete with white birds and a band.
We will be going back from July 4 through the 16th. Question. Do they do the Flag retreat every day??? And if so do they always have the band and birds???
We have planned to go to the Magic Kingdom on Tues the 6th and Wednesday the 14th. But it could be changed.

Flag Retreat is conducted every evening at 5pm, usually the Main Street Philharmonic performs. No birds or anything over the top unless it is a holiday, July 4th there is a good chance there will be extra goodies.

one year ago this week, when i was there, they had the doves every day when they did retreat.

I remember about a year ago we had to stopped releasing the doves, can't remember why.

I believe they stopped the daily bird release because there were some hawks or something in the area that liked to snack on them...

Thats what I heard. The hawks knew when to gather each afternoon and as soon as the doves were released swooped right in. Needless to say a few people became upset & the practice stopped.
