FL Res Tickets

Hello All,

I will be heading out to WDW this Thursday for the long weekend. I have AP but we will be taking some friends also from FL that have no tickets. We are staying at AOA and I am wondering if the concierge at the resort sells FL res park tickets. I am thinking if they do we can save some time by purchasing them there instead of at the park entrance. I once purchased them online but you had to pick them up at the ticket booths anyways which did not save anytime at all. Any other tips about saving time during this busy weekend will be appreciated.

Thanks !!!

No, Florida resident tickets can not be picked up at your resort. You must pick them up at the gate or and DTD. When are you arriving? We usually arrive the night before and will arrive with enough time to pick them up before heading back to the room for the night.

If they arrive during park hours, they could just stop at a park before checking in. Remind them not to forget their ID. And bring it to the parks, too. I've seen people having trouble with the new entry system. If it doesn't work, they ask for ID. The new system has worked fine for me, though. :)

We will be arriving early Thursday morning so unfortunately if the hotel can't sell it I guess we have no choice but to head over to the ticket both at the entrance of the park

Thanks for the reminder. I actually once forget to take my I d. But the issue was not entering the park it was getting my AP discount. They would not give it to me.

I have purchased FL resident tickets at the resort before. My parents actually bought them at POR this past January. Word of caution, Florida Resident passes are blackout from 3/23- 4/5.

Oh, oh. I had no idea, after reading your post I checked their website and you are correct. That is an extra $140 I was not planning to spend on tickets. Bummer. Well, anyone know where I can get cheap tickets ??

The only way I know of to get free or cheap tickets is to sit through time-share stuff. Wouldn't advise it.

You can sometimes save money through brokers, but i don't know how much notice you need and its only a few dollars. sometimes, if its just a couple days, even they aren't cheaper. Maple Leaf tickets, Undercover Tourist...you could try.

But it looks like your friends (or you) will need to pony up some cash! (Sorry.)

This is NOT true! I stayed at the POFQ back in February and I purchased three Florida Resident 3-day tickets right at the Guest Relations desk.

Thanks for the info. I will be the one ponying up the cost since they are recent immigrants to US and therefore they are my guests. Oh well, the joy of seeing them experience WDW for the 1st will be worth it. Hopefully I can get them hooked just likely family and they will be our WDW traveling buddies. !!!

Is this new? I had been told repeatedly that I had to go to the parks for Florida Resident tickets. My seasonal expired back in November so I haven't had pick up a ticket in a while.

I think it started last year. The MYW Florida resident passes now have the same blackout dates as the seasonal annual passes.
3/31/12-4/12/12
6/9/12-8/16/12
12/20/12-1/04/13
I now purchase the seasonal pass and then upgrade if I decide to visit during the blackout dates.
