First post here at the site and I know this issue has been discussed before but I always enjoy reading the ideas. To be honest after Mission Space is completed I don't think another thrill ride is necessary, although I have always thought that a Matterhorn clone back in the countries would be well received and relatively inexpensive to construct.
I like Epcot as much as the next guy but when I'm back in the countries I'm not so much looking to be wowed as looking for something to do. Mexico's boat ride is great and simple and that pavilion still is the non-U.S. standard IMO.
Here are some random thoughts:
1. Lose the Mickey Wand over Spaceship Earth. I don't know anyone who likes that thing.
2. Body Wars: How about a new program/mission. Identical argument to the Star Wars update, but on the relative cost scale, I can't believe that this couldn't be done cheaply but I'm not a programmer.
3. Some country between U.S. and Canada needs some sort of attraction. I liked someone's idea of doing a Mary Poppins themed ride in the Peter Pan format in the U.K. Maybe a simple German boat ride.
4. Emphasis on Dark Rides: I love Test Track but I sure miss World of Motion. I'm sure I'll love Mission Space but I miss Horizons as well. Thank goodness Imagination is back.
5. Spaceship Earth - don't change a thing. I still love this ride and believe that telling the story of the history of communication is an important part of Epcot.
