I wouldn't quite say that... It's 4:30am... so I can't think of the company... But there was a major corporation out there... and they used to be #1... and they had that very same attitude. We're the best... no one will ever beat us. But sure enough... the lil underdog did... and now that company is just a memory. (I wish I could remember who it was... although Im sure there have been many)

however, competition is good.

Indeed... hopefully, it will raise the bar, and inspire Disney to become even Better.

>>>Disney wasn't copying Busch.<<<

You really think Animal Kingdom would have become a reality if BGT didn't exist?

>>>MGM was in the works before Universal and MGM also opened first...<<<

No, it wasn't. Universal Studios had been in the works 10 years before they had even announced the project. MGM was originally going to be a pavilion at Epcot suggested after the parks opening in '82, then it expanded into the whole Studios idea. They rushed the whole thing into development after Universal Studios Florida was announced, and it was obvious by it's opening day selection of attractions.

I always assumed that Universal just decided to expand to the Florida market from their original home in CA. I know when we would vacation yearly in CA when I was a little kid we always hit Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm and Universal Studios...but that was way back in the mid 70s and I was just a kid...but I seriously thought Universal decided to capture that Orlando market...didnt see it as competing against MGM specifically...but what do I know???
