So this thread is exactly what is sounds. I will attempt to fix games or versions of games that were widely criticized. Others can also attempt to fix some of your favorite games. My first game that I will fix is Skull and Bones, this widely criticized game could have been great if A it didn’t get delayed so much and B if it was actually better than Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. My version of the game will not be delayed as much and will take inspiration from various pirate games such as the aforementioned Assassin’s Creed and Sea of Thieves.

Skull and Bones

The controversial pirate games Skull and Bones was originally announced at E3 2017 and was subsequently delayed several times, and I mean several. In this alternate history, instead of this game being the awkward middle child on Ubisoft it will take full precedent in Ubisoft’s game lineup. After being announced in 2017, several teasers and trailers will be released throughout 2018 focusing on how the game will work and the game will have both a multiplayer and campaign mode. At the end of 2018 is when Ubisoft would announce the release date of late 2019 during Christmas. Now with the benefit of hindsight I would suggest a release during the beginning of the pandemic due to people being stuck in their homes but I think the game would still be able to take advantage of it.

Ok let’s get on with the actual game shall we. This game will further build on the legacy of Black Flag as a wonderful pirate game with many of the old features of Black Flag being transferred and updated such as exploring islands and boarding. From my perspective I would see the campaign being the first phase of the game while the much larger multiplayer mode being released later (possibly 2020). Players will take the helm of one of 3 pirates as they make their way through the world that has seemed to have forgotten them as this takes place at the end of the Golden Age of Piracy. This game takes place in the tropical scenes of the Caribbean with the possibility of exploring many towns and islands. Each pirate that you can choose has a different ship and personality, Captain Blackthorn has a rude and combative personality with a Brigantine, Captain Ironclad is a calm but serious man with a large galleon packed to the brim with cannons, and the one is Captain Storm-Eye who always has a joke to tell and she is most often drunk with a small sloop. These 3 pirates must work together to fight off both the Spanish and British navies bearing down on their ideology and must make deals with former enemies or form new alliances with the many peculiar characters that inhabit the Caribbean. After all this exploration and alliance making, the 3 pirates will form a massive pirate fleet and take on British and Spanish forces in a massive sea battle that will take the lives of all 3 main pirates but there ideology of freedom lives on throughout the Caribbean.

After a couple of months, the multiplayer mode will be released in early-mid 2020. This mode will take massive inspiration from modern Sea of Thieves. Players start off with a small sloop and have to build up their pirate empire. Ships are bought or traded with fellow pirates or the inhabitants of the Caribbean. The many islands of the Caribbean can be explored and scavenged of its resources to build ships and recruit more men to your cause. The servers will hold about 12-14 ships which basically means about the possibly of 12-14 players. Your ship and character can be customized rather substantially. The map will be expanded from the campaign which leaves a very broad map but all players are marked on the map to avoid players not interacting with each other. The types of ships that are available is a Sloop, Brig, Gally, or a Man-O-War. The MOW being the strongest but slowest while the sloop is the weakest but the fastest ship.

Now let’s go off some other possible game modes.
  • A 3v3 or a 4v4. As seen in the original gameplay trailer, players will be trapped in a rather large battle arena where players will have to defeat the other team in time or both teams will be destroyed by the Royal Navy or Spanish Navy depending on location. The time limit is about 20 minutes.
  • Survival Island. Players are trapped on an island where they have to avoid or fight off the local wildlife or other pirates to reach a treasure and bring it back to your ship. This mode will probably last a good 10-15 minutes.
  • Port Raid. Players will attack a NPC fort and ships. Once they defeat the coastal defenses, they will invade the town and fight soldiers and the local militia. This mode might work off better as a mission in the campaign or multiplayer but it might be a cool idea.
  • Mutiny. You are a mutineer on a Royal Navy or Spanish ship and you have to organize a mutiny and take over the ship. Again this might be a good idea for the campaign as an introduction mission.
Well that is the end of my first Fix-A-Game concept. Let me know what y’all think. I intend to make a lot more of these. A possible next one is the original version of Battlefront 2 2017 or Ace Combat 7 (fighter jet game).

A remake of Ace Combat 7 would be cool, although if you're talking about Star Wars Battlefront that is a great game and would love to hear how to improve on it.

CONTROVERSIAL OPINION ALERT 🚨 🚨
I do not hate Battlefield 2042. Do I wish there was a campaign, yes definitely, but it is a good multiplayer game that I can enjoy as someone who prefers campaigns in games.

Siren Head

So I know some of you want me to do another big game but I think the 2nd project of this thread should be a smaller game (maybe 1 big game and 1 small game a week). So some of you have definitely heard of Siren Head, but you may not have heard of his first video game. Now there a several things wrong with this game, number 1 the graphics. I can’t tell if this game is supposed to look old or it is just naturally old so we’ll fix that bit. Number 2, the story and the simple fact is that the games story is extremely basic and not very original so we’ll also fix that bit too. So we have 2 things to fix.

Ok so I think we can keep the old video game style but maybe not make it look so... basic. Take the art style of Fears to Fathom, it keeps the old game look but it still looks very detailed so we will take inspiration from Fears to Fathom Ironbark Lookout which takes place in the woods at a national park. Players will take the role of a park ranger as they go several tasks around the park, exploring the many trails and landmarks which build on the lore of Siren Head as an entity that has existed for thousands of years and takes on different forms. The park manager calls the ranger and tells them that several hikers have not returned back to the welcoming center so the player drives a buggy thru the woods as a siren seems to get louder and louder, telling the people of the park to meet up at a local camping site. That is weird because there was nothing scheduled at that location but he ignores it as a technical problem. Players arrive at the hikers last known location but the woods are eerily quiet, not any birds, not any people, it's like time just stopped. That is when players hear it, a loud tornado siren starts playing, at first it sounds distant but it gets closer and closer, louder and louder. The entire forest seems to shake and a loud rumbling of footsteps gets closer and closer. Players have to run back to the buggy and drive away but Siren Head starts chasing them on all fours. Players have to drive through the thick forests as Siren Head takes swings at the car, the ranger gets so close to the safe zone but is stopped as Siren Head throws a tree in front of the car and it crashes into the fallen tree. As the ranger wakes up, he is picked up by Siren Head and his voice is consumed by the creature and his body is consumed soon after. The final scene shows a memorial for the ranger and that is when a representative of SCP foundation walks up to the park manager as soldiers start checking the forest.

That final scene is my version of a possible connected universe that involves several Trevor Henderson creatures such as the several entity's of the SCP universe or Cartoon Cat.

I've given up on video games. They mostly suck now, even the once reliable Call of Duty has gotten boring!
You should look into indie devs/games like 30XX, if you really want to avoid the mainstream stuff’s problems.

On the topic of fixing a recent Mario Party game, I feel like one such way to fix it would be to have a more exciting character roster available; Pauline joining the series is a start, but it’s odd that the Wario Land games haven’t gotten any representation, nor Wario Ware (though Intelligent Systems may have to be discussed with first).

That's actually a good idea. The unwoke ones look like fun and more like my favorite games from the past, when I was younger (Cuphead). I just got to avoid games like Dustborn.

There are a good few woke-but-good games out there too; even if that sounds like a contradiction.
