was wondering if your staying at the resorts if you can fish on the shore of the resort lakes like maybe CSR or CBR, I can't afford the fishing trips Disney has!:(

I don't know about the resorts you specifically mentioned, but I know at Port Orleans, you can fish at the "fishing hole".

My question is, with the catch and release policy, why would anyone WANT to fish. If I'm gonna go fishing, I would rather do it with the intention of eating the fish I catch. To throw it back in just seems like a waste of time to me, but to each his own.

Of course, on the other hand, even if we could keep the fish we catch, that begs the question of just where we would clean them and cook them in those hotel rooms. LOL

Yea they stock the pond at POR with bluegill, sunnies, crappie, and big bass. I would go there every morning when my family stayed there and cast towards the back of the pond with a topwater lure (I brought my own pole and stuff from home) and catch big bass. And for the question about fishing off the shore line, you can't but you can sneak out at night and do it and do it during the day your first time till someone says otherwise.

Lake Fishing

A great place to fish from shore is in Fort Wilderness east of the Marina down at the end of the beach where the lake enters a drainage canal/spillway. There is a cut in the lake that forms a small lagoon, it is very peaceful and I have always had good luck there. No license required as you can fish in Florida from a land mass without a license. You can not fish from the sandy beaches on either side of the Marina or off the Marina dock, but you can fish along the banks of the canals that run through the campground as well as the Meadow pond.

Yes, you can fish at Caribbean Beach on your own. You muct use your own pole/ supplies, and can only fish from the shore. Easiest spot is way out in Trinidad South at the far end of the lake. Years ago there was a dock down that way....not sure if it is still there.
