Hi guys, I was wondering if you could help?

In August, my wife and I are coming from England to visit Disney with our 18 month old daughter. We have a few questions and wondered if anybody could be of help?

We have our own stroller and are bringing it with us, but are we allowed to bring it into the parks, or do we have to hire one at each individual park?

Do all the baby care centres have a ______ in and are they free to use?

Also, does anybody have any hints and tips for us for our general time in Orlando??

Many, many thanks for any help you can provide.

Andy, You are definitely able to bring your own stroller in to the parks.

"Do all the baby care centres have a ______ in and are they free to use?" Not sure what the " ______ " is.

General tips...Be prepared for very HOT weather. Hotter than :fork:!! Spend a bunch of time looking at things and becoming familiar with everything there is. Being prepared will make your lives easier. Try to purchase a copy of the unofficial guide for 2012. You can find it at touringplans.com.

For the little one, It's a Small World, Dumbo, Jungle Cruise, POTC, and many others will be great.

The baby care centers are free to use. If you need diapers, etc., there is a charge.

Most of the attractions in the Magic Kingdom are baby friendly, especially in Fantasyland.

If you are staying at a Disney resort, plan times to go back to your room for rest daily. Your baby will need it.

Have a great trip.

all rides except...

Most all rides at Magic Kingdom are "baby friendly" except Thunder Mtn, Splash Mtn, and Space Mtn. But, if you would like to, there is a BABY SWAP where one parent may ride and then the other may get directly on (fastpass line) after. My husband and I used this when our boys were 2. They especially liked the play area where Splash Mountain is.:)
We rented strollers. An expense we added. It seemed easier.:)
Do not miss It's a Small World! I remember that attraction when I was a baby!:)
Stay cool. We bought cheap "mister fans" (not WDW ones) to use. It will be hot. Stay hydrated and stay cool. Take frequent breaks ( the Railroad is a nice break. so is the tomorrowland "people mover". Enjoy!

If you stay on or off property, bringing your own stroller is a great idea. When you leave the park, if you rent a stroller, you will leave it at the gate. If you have any longer walks once you leave the park for the day, you will appreciate having your own stroller. If you have to pay extra for strollers on your airline flight, you may consider buying an umbrella stroller for about $40 once you are on Disney property.

Baby Care Centers are a great resource to use. If you are looking for places to allow your child to nap without going back to the resort, consider a theater based attraction. For example, The Hall of Presidents in the Magic Kingdom is great for older kids and adults, but your little one may enjoy a quick nap on your lap in this cool comfy theater while you enjoy the show.
Part of Fantasy Land will be open during your vacation. Here are links to check out info: http://di.sn/su or http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/magic-kingdom/new-fantasyland/
Don't forget your camera. If your battery is low, bring along the battery charger and you can drop off your camera and charger to camera services at Guest Services and they will be able to charge your camera for you.
Have a great trip!

Our daughter went on her first trip at the same age. We are actually going in August too from the 8th thru 20th. Here are my tips

Bring your own stroller, your child will be more comfortable.
Be prepared for extreme heat, take rest breaks as needed.
Keep Hydrated
Baby Centers are great. You can also purchase baby supplies there.
Use parent swap, one parent rides then as soon as they come off the other can ride.
Take mid day breaks as needed.
Water and Ice are free in the parks, with the heat you'll need it.
Be prepared for afternoon down pours. Most of the time they will pass shortly, wait them out.
Most important Enjoy Yourself it's Disneyworld!

I second previous comments re: the rides... DS6's first trip was at 10m old and he was pretty much able to do everything except the mountains and things like Test Track and Mission Space etc. At that age he was absolutely in love with the TTA (still is actually) for some reason so that was a repeater for us. Other than that all of the dark rides are great at that age as well as the shows like the Tiki Room and rides like Dumbo etc. :) You'll have an absolute blast seeing what your child reacts to. Seeing the wonder in their eyes at that age is incredible!

You are definitely allowed to bring food and drink in as long as it's not in a rolling cooler. We took both our girls at that age, and they had a wonderful time. My best piece of advice is to try to keep her on her regular sleeping and eating schedule as much as possible. WDW is very stimulating so having routine and plenty of rest really helps reduce the meltdowns.

Are you asking if you can take food and drink on the plane ride or in the parks? You can take any food and drink bought in the airport onto the plane. Snacks are allowed through security, not drinks though. As for the parks, we always pack and bring in our own drinks and snacks to help get the kids through the day with less tantrums and spending a little less money in the parks.
