There is one thing that you need to plan for next November. Animal Kingdom's nighttime show called Rivers of Light is going to be opening next year.

If your kids are fans of Frozen, you will need to do a MM+ next year on the Frozen ride in Epcot that should be opened by then. I am going by the rule of thumb that new attractions are going to have busy lines. I think meet and greet for Frozen should open at Epcot by next November, but don't know how that is going to effect the Magic Kingdom yet with own Frozen Meet and Greet.

Planing for DHS for November 2016 is going to very hard this point. DHS is starting a make over of the park right now. Last year, attractions at DHS got closed. It is very possible that even more attractions could be closing by the time you go there. Toy Story Midway Mania, The Great Movie Ride, Rock'n Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, and Star Tours are going to be open for sure.

The best way to handle it for DHS is keep an eye on if anything else is closing between and 180 days before you go. I figure that more information is going to be out there between now and May of 2016 for DHS.

Oh yeah...I didn't think about certain rides being closed and such. I will keep an eye on that, thank you. I would hate for the kids to get their hopes up for a particular ride and then have it closed.

Also keep an eye on the website for military rates at the resorts. I get pretty good deals everytime I go. I know they tend to block it over the holidays(obviously) but never hurts to ask

Thanks for the advice! The length of stay is my hardest choice...there's so much fun stuff to try. In November I think the water parks are closed, at least that makes it a bit easier. I'm looking at going to Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party the first night we get there. Have you been?
I think that 7-8 days is best if you can swing it. We've never done the MVMCP, even though we were there the 1st week of December on our last trip. We have done MNSSHP in the past & that was alot of fun! Make sure you see the Osbourne lights at DHS they are awesome! By the way, the water parks are open in November. Usually one is down for refurb while the other is open during the winter months.

Oh cool, I was told they would probably both be closed. My kids would love it if it's warm enough!! I have heard about the Osborne Lights, thanks we will!

We love it as it was our first stay on WDW property. We like the food court & our kids liked the pool. In our experience the bussing is the best on property. You have to go with the mindset that you're not staying in deluxe accommodations but it's a nice clean room at WDW!

I agree with for seeing the Osborne Lights, but it is questionable if they are going to be here in 2016 depending if there is construction for Streets of America.

There is something to keep an eye on about the Animal Kingdom Night show I mentioned on an earlier post. It is possible that the night show could have a Holiday version or Holiday segment in the show. I expect Disney to make an announcement ahead of time time in 2016 if AK's Night time would have a holiday segment. . I am mentioning this due to Disney having a show similar to it in DCA and it has a holiday segment.

I also want to tell you that when I was at WDW for the Christmas stuff, Epcot's Illuminations: Reflections of Earth had a holiday segment after their regular parts of the show is done. The only thing is that I don't know if it shows up before December.

So probably a dumb question but do I just check each parks website to find this info? I will check closer to the time we go but I think the kids would love to see one or more of these shows. Thank you!!

Welcome and some great advise so I will toss in some of mine. As an AP holder, DVC owner, and a local who goes to WDW 2-3 times a month.
1. Get your hotel booked 1st as they do sell out quickly.
2. I recommend the Meal plan (quick service meal plan IMHO is great and plenty of food).
3. DO NOT try to cram everything in on your trip IMHO go with the flow. Plan one off day to spend at the pool or something else it gives you a little downtime to recover.
4. Book your fast passes as soon as they are available 60 days out this will allow you to select the rides you really want to go on the most as the stand by lines are long and the FP’s go quickly.
(MK- 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan, Space Mountain) (Epcot- GM Test Track, Soarin)(Hollywood Studios-Tower of Terror, Rock n Roller Coaster, Toy Story mania) (Animal Kingdom- Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safari)
5. Check to make sure any special events are not going on the evening you plan to attend one of the parks (Not so scary Halloween party, Very Merry Christmas party, ect..) Not knowing the park hours of events and showing up to find out you need to purchase a special event ticket for access.
6. The food and Wine Festival runs from 9/25-11/16, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parts runs from 11/8-12/18 from 6pm-midnight.
7. Know each park offers Extra magic hours either before the park opens to the general or after it closes to the general public. Extra magic hours are ONLY available to guests staying at WDW resorts.
8. Get to know the bus stop locations at your resort for larger resorts and resorts with only 1 stop plan to arrive early for the bus especially in the morning and busses going to Magic Kingdom.
9. Disney offers lots of activities at the hotels so even if you hit the park and you used your fast passes you can head back to the pool for the pool parties, the evening camp fires, and the movie under the stars.
10. Lastly Go have Fun remember don’t over stress yourself on trying to get it ALL done.
