Hi, I'm bringing my family over in July for two weeks and are looking to go to DLP for a couple of days.
As our group ranges from age 4 - 70, trying to cater for everyone at the same time may be a little complicated. We wondered if we are allowed to bring in snacks/ picnic and if so are there picnic areas? Cheaper food options etc. One of our party is diabetic so we need to be conscious of waiting times if its all sit down or fast food outlets. Thanks to any advice in advance

Security used to be very strict about taking in your own food/drink but it has certainly calmed down over the last few years. I'd say unless you went over-board (like take in a huge cooler) you should be ok. There aren't any designated picnic areas. There's a lot of picnic tables in Frontierland, round by the Cowboy Cookout but you might be lucky to all get a space (seeing as it's mainly for restaurant use). If you haven't prepared just outside the security checked area there's a Relay in the train station which does a good range of food etc at slightly reasonable prices.

It's also very busy in July and the Frozen Summer festival will probably mean heavier crowds than we're used to seeing.

Hoped I've helped even slightly, more questions just ask. www.dlpguide.com is also your friend.

I used to bring in food all the time. Never full meals or anything, but a bunch of snack food. No one ever said anything about it. There is outdoor seating near some restaurants. Hakuna Matata, Fuente del Oro, and Toad Hall come time mind.

EDIT: Those are all QS restaurants, so using those seating areas won't be a problem, even if you aren't eating there.
