My family and I are going to WDW this june. we are staying at the Art of Animation resort in the finding nemo suite. With the dining plan.

I am so overwhelmed already with just the planning. i just finalized our dinner reservations, but am so worried that as first timers we are going to miss out on some great things, just because I didnt know about them.

I have tried to google for first timer tips but I just get sent back WDW.com or to other search engines.

the kids are 6, 7, and 8.

Anyone got any tips of things first timers should definitely do?

I have been to WDW 18 times, and still haven't done everything! Every year theres something new and exciting. Every park has so much to do, so pace yourself. I have done all of the popular attractions.. but there is much much more than those. Like most people have said, the guide is great to have especially since it is your first time. I also like doing things outside of the parks like restaurants and resort hopping, the monorail, and mini-golf. There is just too much to do in wdw in one vacation. Some people forget that WDW is not going anywhere, and whatever you might miss, you can do the next time you go.

Have a wonderful trip!!! :)

Guess you can do it...

May I ask why you would say to not do both? It's very easy to do both in a full day at the park. One in the morning and one in the afternoon.

We do it every trip and have plenty of time for all of the attractions and the shows.

It's up to you. I guess we spent more time @ the Conservation Station and the day just flew by! We had to do AK in 2 days, but we didn't use fastpass (stupid). We also lingered a bit @ Camp Minnie-Mickey to meet the characters as well as watching the parade.:animwink:

Best advice, which sometimes seems obvious or easily forgotten, is to TAKE A MIDDAY BREAK! Go to the parks early, head back to the hotel after lunch for swimming/snacks/nap/etc, and return to the parks in the early evening. You'll avoid burning yourself out this way! I can't imagine exhausted kids would be fun to wrangle :ROFLOL:

Hi couldn't stress enough what the rest have said on here take your time and enjoy it, I would say some of the most fun things in Disney aren't always the rides its the kids faces!!! I have been 10 times now at 14 days each time and we still find new things each time! Try Disney Quest I would imagine that would be great for the age of your kids! Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin is also great but the most amazing things are the night time parades and fireworks!
We love Sea World it really is a nice chilled out day and the kids love the animals!! The passports for Epcot are great for the kids something to really engage them.
Again most important take your time and take in the atmosphere Have fun!!!!! We are there in June as well and Can't wait!!!! :sohappy:

It is very easy to get stressed before you even get there. If you are the planning type and you enjoy it than make planning part of the fun. You will notice that many of us on this site have been to WDW more than once, and that is because there is so much to see, feel and do.
The children are at a great age and if you feed off their excitment you can not go wrong.

The best tip I recieved was to take time to slow down, becuse it is amazing what hidden teasures you can find.

Have a great time

we will be there 6 nights/7 days with 6 day park hopper pass.

i had planned just one day of relaxing at the AoA 3 pools.

One thing that my family liked was to go to the parks early but come back for a swim in the late afternoon, than head back to the parks. It allowed us to unwind and we enjoyed the resort. We did not do this everyday but did it 4 out of the 7 days, and therefore I never scheduled a day just for the resort.
Also my planned schedule lasted one day. By day two we were already changing it (for the better)

Don't be suprised when kids that age want to meet every character they see. Make sure and plan time for that. Our first trip, we spent half the vacation meeting characters. Still lots of fun, get some autograph books and take lots of pictures.
