First time to Universal for 10 years

That's good to know. We will be going mid December...any idea on crowds that time of year?

We were there on December 13th last year. We stayed the night before onsite so we had the express pass plus early admission to the WWOHP. However, with the exception of Spiderman, FJ, and RRR, the regular lines were not too bad. I would imagine that Transformers would have a long wait too now.

Hi Zipit:)

The walk in was fine, apart from the heat. It takes a long time though, as there were queues to get in to the parking garage. We went in August so it was very busy. If you want to get to the park gates at 9, I would aim to leave the I4 at 8.15 at the latest. We queued for a long time before we even paid for parking, and then queued again on the walkway for the bag check.

I'd book a room or buy EPs, too. Just so much easier that way. You can sleep in and still not wait in lines. But if that is just not an option, check touringplans.com for a good plan. :)

How you managed to leave Spider-Man and The Mummy off the list, I don't know. ;) But put them both on there, way up at the top. Don't put the Hulk or Dragon Challenge on your list (maybe your husband, lol.)

They have moving sidewalks to help with the walk from the garage. There is also (closer) valet parking, if you want to pay for that.

Oops as well. I see August, I think, "next year."

Hope the OP returns to tell us how it worked out. :)

Thank you for the info. This is our first trip to IOA and any info helps. We will definitely leave early.

Thanks. Is wwohp just as busy in the evening as it is first thing in the morning?

To answer that question, I'd have had to have been there for both open and close, on the same day, on many occasions...and I haven't done it once, lol.

In my experience, when the parks aren't busy, it's very easy to get on Forbidden Journey near closing time. When they are very busy, it's a shorter wait just before close, but can still be a wait.

I don't know if that helps any.

I have been there over the last 2 weeks. The park was busy (as we're all the Disney parks) later in the day. I got there for opening and the Forbidden Journey was a 30 minute wait. The queue was moving all the time and we exited the ride 25 mins after joining the queue.
Later the times went from 45 - 60 mins all day. I queued again when it dropped to 40 mins and it took that long. It never dropped below that again before I left the park.
Just for information, Dragon Challenge, Jurassic Park, Dudley do right, bluto were all walk on. Spider-Man was over 30 mins all day, Hulk around 20, cat in the hat/red fish 20-30 mins,
