First time staying at a DVC

We will be renting points from my MIL's friend next year and I have a couple questions regarding on how we do this. I believe the DVC owner's home resort is BWV since she told us we could reserve it 11 months in advance and the other's 7 months in advance, is this correct? Also could someone let me know how hard it is to get into the other DVC properties? My family loves the BC so our first choice would be the BCV but I'm afraid we may not be able to get in there and our second choice would be BWV. My question is should we book BWV and then try to get into BCV when we are 7 months out? Is there a waiting list you can get on if BCV is booked? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, I really need to get in touch with my MIL's friend but I thought I'd try my luck on here first.

Yes, that is correct.

Depends on the property and your travel dates - some properties are more popular than others.

We are looking at mid June, right when the kids get out of school so I know it will be busy, that's why I'm a little worried about getting into what we would like. We were thinking of going in early February but since we have a high schooler now I can't take him out of school for a week like we used to do.

Book BWV at the 11 months and then try to change at 7 months to BC, thats the only way to confirm you will have the reservation

If you book BCV right at 7 months, I would expect there to be availability. I would book BWV at 11 and switch to BCV at 7. Call at 9:00 est to increase your chances but I would expect no problems.
