I would get more out of DCA? .

Now that I know you have already been to USH and Potter in Florida... a lot more. It's a beautiful "little" park. Radiator Springs Racers is a world class attraction. Guardians of the Galaxy is a lot of fun (not as good as TOT but still). If you haven't been to Epcot recently then Soarin around the World will be new to you too. Screamin is a great Coaster and may be your last chance to ride it in its original form as it will be getting an Incredibles overlay soon. I'll echo what Disneygeek said about the Pier. It has a very pleasant vibe, especially during dusk on a nice sunny day. Grizzly Peak is a lush n beautiful land. To get away from some of the crowds walk all the way around the mountain at night for some waterfalls off the beaten path. Also if you go during the holidays you ll be able to see the new holiday version of World of Color, which I hear is the best version. The park also has some nice food options, sit down and counter service.

I second the vote to go to DCA instead of Universal. I just spent a day at Universal in Hollywood this summer (and several in DCA/DL) and even though I've never been to Universal Orlando, I'm still kinda mad I wasted a day there. Harry Potter is literally the only thing worth doing there, and you've already had the more superior experience in Orlando.

I just spoke to my brother who lives in SoCal (hence why I'll be there for Christmas) and in his opinion, Harry Potter in California does not hold a candle to the one in Florida. DCA it is! Thanks!

As someone who adores Universal Studios Hollywood, I have to say you're making a great choice. Skipping out on DCA for USH...not a good idea, especially since you haven't seen DCA basically since it opened, and the main reason you want to visit USH is Potter and you've already experienced that in Florida.

I think you will enjoy yourself at DCA. And now you don't have to worry about the traffic from Orange County to Los Angeles. :)

My ranking of parks during the Christmas Season.

1. Disneyland park, except I hate the crowds and costs.

2, Knott's Merry Farm, the park isn't afraid to say "Merry Christmas", great shows and décor, they have crafts booths set up with unique items for sale. the price is right, and the FastLane option is great (extra charge). Many of the staff, especially performers work at both Knott's and Disneyland.

3. Six Flags Magic Mountain. Holiday in the Park gets better every year, and as a Roller Coaster fan, it adds to the value.

4. Universal Studios Hollywood and Grinchmas, hopefully they will bring back the musical Harry Potter evening show for the season.

5. California Adventure, just doesn't do the holiday well, and seems like an afterthought as compared to its Big Brother. Heck, I get more of a Christmas feel visting the Hotels.

Also love Sea World's Christmas, and LEGOLAND is great with kids.

Definitely partake in the seasonal shows:

WORLD OF COLOR is amazing- make sure you get a fast pass first thing right after radiator springs racers.

BELIEVE IN HOLIDAY MAGIC FIREWORKS and FANTASMIC. See the first showing of fantasmic - get a fastpass first thing- then stay to watch the fireworks on the water.

CHRISTMAS FANTASY PARADE is fun during the daytime and very festive.
