First time at Pop a few question

Hello all, I'm staying at Pop for the first time this sept, and I have a few questions. Here is a quick run down of why I'm staying at Pop. I always stay at the all star resorts, with the exception of a few times, anyway I was booked for all star music, but then saw the food court will be closed. So, I tried to switch to Movies, but they aren't doing the free quick serve. I can't stand all star sports, I'm too old for that place, and I have a lil girl now so I try to avoid the teenagers. So now I'm at Pop, it was $85 more then my preferred room at music, but no big deal. Anyway, I looked at the resort map, and food courts items. The resort looks huge, in a preferred building is the walking all that bad? Also, it looks like the food is much different at Pop compared to the all stars. I don't eat much, but when I do I like what a lot of people call crap food like cheesesteaks, burgers, ya know. I love the cheesesteaks at all star movies, but didn't see them at Pop, do they have them there? I know sometimes they don't list everything on the menus. Last, I know it's in the Disney Springs section, so how long am I looking to be on the bus to get to MK? I'm not sure if they have a cut through route or not....any feedback will be great. Thank you my WDW family!

I stay at Pop frequently. It may look huge, but the walks are really not bad at all, especially from the preferred rooms (but the way the resort is laid out I have never felt I had too long of a walk to the food court, and I only stay in preferred rooms if that is all that is available). As for the food, lots of choices, but alas no cheesesteak. They used to have a delicious cheesesteak wrap but it is no longer on the menu. Still plenty to choose from and you will likely be able to find stuff you like. As for the bus to MK, maybe 10-15 minutes tops if I am remembering correctly..not too long at all. Enjoy your stay at Pop and your vacation!

We stayed in the 70s building at Pop (standard, not preferred) and it was only a 5 minute walk to the food court. Very convenient. Don't remember the food because we only ate a quick breakfast there before hitting the parks all day and night. Trip to MK is about 10-15 minutes max. I liked Pop's location better than ASMovies.

Interesting. I hope you aren't setting the wrong expectations for a resort.

Joe, my man, I was asking questions, if you have some info for me about teens being a pain, please let me know. All I have noticed is that out of all the all stars, Sports has the most teenagers.

I cannot speak for certain as to which resort has more teens during the week that you will be there. I have been to Sports and never had an issue with teens. I have also been to Pop and have had a problem with them. It all depends.

I love Pop but they eliminated the mom's dinners, the greek salad, and the amazing alfredo pasta with chicken. Instead you get sloppy joes and "beer battered" fish. The tie dye apears to have been shrunk as well. As far as the hotel, it's not bad, it's just noisy near the hippy dippy pool, I stayed near the bowling pool one time and it was not as loud.

You made a great choice switching to Pop. Its our favorite value resort! We have stayed at all of them many times and Pop is just different to us. A better atmosphere, great food court, great bus system- it does not share with any other resort! We were actually just booked to stay there in November but got a pin code and switched to French Quarter just yesterday. Had we not gotten a pin, we would have stayed. All 3 times we've been to Pop, we stayed in the 50's section and loved it! It is not as loud as it may be by the main pool area and not far from the main building at all. Also, you can walk right over to AoA and check out their food court and grounds as well!

Pop is great! While it's still a value resort you will expect the same from Allstars...Granted the dedicated bus line is WAAAY Better. Their will be teens and tour groups evident throughout (no matter the season you go) and the occasional running down the hallway noises and so on...All in all it's still a good resort and would recommend it.

We just left the Pop and loved it. Buses were always nearby, the food court was decent, and like others have said, AoA is right across the bridge if you want to check out their food court. We stayed in an 80's room and it wasn't a bad walk at all... maybe 5 minutes or so.
