What's the first thing you do when you get to WDW that makes you feel like you're there?

If I get there so late I'm not using a park admission, I head down to Downtown Disney--a stop at the Comedy Warehouse and the Adventurers Club, and I know I'm at the happiest place on earth! :)

Check in of course! and an obligatory shower b4 I hit the parks......after a long plane ride crammed in those little spaces they call seats......I'll usually have sweat stains the size of texas under my arm pits........I want to be sweat free b4 I get to the parks and start sweating again! :D

Since I live in Iowa, I can only get there once a year. However, I know I have arrived when I get my first sip of Florida water. It is a unique sort of water, chich is only discernable if you don't live in the deep south. And driving on I-4 with all the billboards: "Experience T-2; Experience Universal" "Tower of Terror at MGM-Studios!" etc.

Thanks for sharing, DisJosh....lol

Anyway, I'd have to agree with what wagner said - seeing all the billboards for WDW on I-4 really makes me feel that I've arrived :D

First thing I do is head over to the Poly (if not staying there), have dinner at Kona Cafe and ride the monorail and visit Grand Floridian and The Contemporary.

I feel that I've arrived once I hop on the monorail of Orlando Airport to get to the baggage claim area. To be honest I think I've been in MCO more often than my home airport.

Really, I've arrived the instant my baggage hits the beds of our room. We rest for about ten minutes and then hit the parks/monorail depending on what time and type of pass we have. This year it is drop the luggage off and then go get those Annual Passes! Probably over in Disney Studios or Epcot.

I've got a hankering for some Cheesecake that ate New York from Sci-Fi. (I wonder if they will rename that dessert?)

10 weeks and counting!

When I see those cruise line busses going down the road.... That's when I know I'm close. Those busses are everywhere. My school's chorus was even taken by bus to our Candellight performances.

We usually plan to arrive around checkin time, about 3:00 PM. The drive from the airport, past all the billboards, under the entrance sign, just gets the excitement level even higher.
After checkin we go for a swim, then dinner in a resort restaraunt, maybe a round of golf at Fantasia or Blizzard Beach. Then back for another late swim.

We get up extra early the next morning, head for the Magic Kingdom to be one of the first in the park. (If you've never been around the entrance of MK right after sunrise, it truly is magical).

I know I've arrived when we go under the train station and walk out into Main Street, the feeling is like no other when you look down Mainstreet at the Castle for the first time after looking forward to it for a long time. I usually walk slowly down mainstreet and just take it all in, looking for anything that has changed, reading the windows etc.

Our first ride is always Splash Mountain. Once off the ride, we are off and running, determined to do it all.

We have arrived...

We usually get to the hotel before check-in. (Next tuesday we'll land in Orlando at 11:30 a.m.) We have them hold our bags and we head straight to the MK. Nothing says you've arrived like Cindy's castle.

My mother and I have to take the Monorail right over to the MK and walk into the Emporium just to "smell" it. There's a certain Disney smell, and that store has it.

Also, I usually don't feel like I'm there til I hear "Golden Afternoon." It's strange, I always hear it right at the TTC, or right when I walk into the MK. Same thing happened when I was at Disneyland this summer too....first song. How strange is that?
