Be prepared to LOVE IT!! I go solo a lot (Disney and non-Disney trips). You go totally at your own pace, eat where you want to eat. It’s really fantastic. Make a few ADR’s, enjoy the table service restaurants if you can and don’t always limit yourself to quick serve. Utilize single rider lines on Test Track and other rides that offer it. Have a blast! 😎🎉

How long are you going for? Any must do’s? For me the biggest advantage is being able to move through the parks quickly. I’m doing a solo weekend in about a month.

I have done a morning and evening on my own, when the rest of the family was at the hotel. I’ve also done one day trip solo - drive down early, rope dropped HS, rode my rides, went to epcot, rose some more, then picked up a fish & chips dinner. at the time I couldn’t get my daughters to eat that. Since then we’ve gone to Ireland and England and my older daughter ordered that almost 10 times on the trip, becoming a fish n chips connoseiur. Now she has to try it in Epcot. Those trips were fun but definitely different. I’m looking forward to my trip this month.

Ive gone solo a couple of times and loved it... after I got over missing my DW & DS. It does take a short time to adjust to being alone. Take full advantage of single rider lines when they are available. Make plans to do the things youve never done before because it didnt fit with your family group. Treat yourself to a tour or some other fun unique thing youd normally not do. Spend more time conversing with the CM's ( especially in the various EP countries ) and other guests. Youre by yourself so theres no hurry. Take your time to see things youve never taken the time to see. Wander all the side paths and walkways. You can do some scavenger hunts, there are plenty of online printable ones and some books as well that are related to the Disney parks. Enjoy it to the fullest because its a unique way to experience Disney.

I will there Jan 25 to Jan 30. Plan ticket already bought, although I should of waited now since the price went down today but I was too excited at the moment. My first day I plan to enjoy Disney Springs and I want to Hotel Hop, to see the different hotels I never stayed at yet. The Next day will be Hollywood Studios, then Animal Kingdom, Then Epcot, I save the best for last....Magic Kingdom. I am thinking about adding park hoppers to my reservations while I still can.

I did a solo trip in 2014 and while I absolutely love my family (my kids are my world) I have to be honest, I had some of the best days ever at WDW. I did whatever I wanted and ate whatever I wanted without worrying about who didn't like what. Got on TT 4 times in one hour doing single rider.

BTW, some airlines like Southwest will give you a credit for the difference if the plane ticket ever goes down in price so make sure you ask. You usually have about a year to use the credit (like for another trip to WDW!)

Have a great time!

For most of the queue, no. However, when you get near to getting on the ride, they'll put you in a line for single riders in order to fill up spaces. That being said, FP+ is still the quickest route to riding.
They were displaying both stand-by and single rider line times last week.

In the Parks
Yes
I think the best advice to give you is take your time. Slow down and enjoy what's going on around you. You can explore and see more of the park that way without having to worry about anyone else.
