My wife and I are going to wdw on Jan. 15 through the 21. We will be arriving at around 230 with magical express and staying at pop century. We have a 6:00 reservation at artist pointe. what should we do in the mean time?

My suggestion would be to go check in a pop...you more than likely won't get to the hotel until about 3:30. Then go unpack your stuff and relax in your room for a bit.

Once you are done with that, you could check out the resort a little bit. Get the feel of it, see all the larger than life icons. Check out the food court and such.

After that I would head over to Artist Pointe. You will probably need an hour to an hour and a half to get there on time because you will have to go to one of the parks (or the TTC) and then transfer to Wilderness Lodge. The busses at Pop do not directly take you to other resorts.

I hope you have a wonderful trip. As you can see from my signature, I will be leaving in 4 days to stay at Pop Century once again! It's a very nice hotel and I really like it!

One thing we really like to do when we first get there is look through all the maps and information they give you at check in, then watch the Top Seven Must Sees at Walt Disney World. It just gets us in the mood for WDW. Then, explore around your resort, or bus over to Magic Kingdom or Epcot and just ride the monorail for a while. We love just looking over the property from the monorail.

I agree with what was said above, allow PLENTY of time to get to dinner. It could take a while!

Hope you have a wonderful trip! You're going to be leaving the day after we arrive! Hope it's magical for you!

I would agree, check into the Pop and then wander around and check the place out... The food courts, shops, etc. Give yourself at least an hour to get to the Wilderness Lodge (NOT Fort Wilderness as you were previously directed). Even if you get there early there is so much to see at the WL that you will want to wander around. There is a Hidden Mickey Hunt in the lobby and relaxing in front of the huge fireplace in a comfy rocker is always nice, the totem poles and decorations deserved to be checked out also. You could always have a drink before dinner (if you are into it) or maybe they can seat you a little early if they aren't too busy. Most of all... relax and enjoy your vacation.

No problem, so many people mix them up because they sound alike and are next to each other (and share transportation). You just don't want to show up at one and mean the other (especially if you are tired or hungry  ).

I've seen people argue at the WL that their reservations were lost, but they should have been at Fort Wilderness (for the cabins) instead.

How about taking the bus to the MK getting on the Monorail and taking a ride and check out the hotels on the monorail. Then from the MK you take a boat over to WL and dinner.

You could also disembark at the Contemporary and check it out some then go to the ground floor, out the back and catch a boat over. There are some boats that do the loop between CR then FW then WL.

I was just about to say the same thing! Its very nice to take the boat ride in the evening, though a little chilly at times.

Check out the geyser at the Wilderness Lodge. It spouts at the top of every hour. I concur that the Wilderness Lodge lobby is a great place to relax and just soak in the amazing beauty of the hotel. There's a great hidden lounge on the fourth floor too that overlooks the whole lobby I enjoy just taking a book to. I enjoy the shop at the Wilderness Lodge too.
