We go to WDW in June/July, so the parks will be open late. I thought it would be fun to try and ----
See the fireworks at Epcot, then get the monorail to Magic Kingdom for
the 10pm fireworks, then get the bus to MGM for an 11pm Fantasmic!
Has anyone done this? Is it feasible?

During the time you are planning to go Illuminations will take place at 9:00pm, Wishes at 10:00pm and Fantasmic at 10:30 pm.

There is no way you can make all three in a night and see them all in their entirety.

This is the duration of each show:

Wishes: 12min
Illuminations: 13min
Fantasmic: 25min without pre-show

This is what you would have to contend with to do it all in one night. You would have to begin in Epcot. See the show and haul butt to the monorail when it's over. Realize that you will be in a large crowd all trying to get onto the monorail and you may have to wait for another. Once on the monorail, you have to switch monorail systems at the TTC to get to MK. It will be nearly imposible to make it in time given the time of year because of crowds. However, if you do make it to view wishes, you would have to get back on the monorail, transfer again at the TTC, ride to Epcot, walk to the International Gateway and take a boat to MGM or walk there. or you could take a bus from the TTC to MGM. Either way, It would be impossible to make it there in 17 min. Even on a non crowded day.

Thanks "Long family" for your advice!
I had kind of thought I would be walking towards Innoventions as the Epcot fireworks was finishing -- so I would be one of the first on the monorail.
Then I was banking on there being an 11pm Fantasmic like there is on some mid summer nights!
Also I had hoped there would be a bus from the Magic Kingdom to MGM.
I guess if there was an 11pm Fantasmic one could get a bus to the Swan/Dolphin resorts and walk.
All this depends on all the transportation fitting in and there being no delays!!

Wrong! Ive done it.

However... it means not using Disney Transport ... and having some luck.

This started with a 7:30 Fantasmic, ran from there to teh conviently parked car and booked it to Epcot. Watched Illum from World Showcase Plaza, ran out to the conviently parked car, booked over to the Contemporary & walked to MK, watched Wishes from the Train Station area.

Entirely possible, provided you have your own car.

Catching a 7:30 Fantasmic, 9:00 Illuminations, and 10:00 Wishes is possible....catching a 10:30 Fantasmic after a 10:00 Wishes is not. You would first have to get out of the madhouse that is the MK after Wishes, catch a ferry or monorail to the TTC, get to your car, drive to WDSF, park, get into the park, walk all the way down Sunset Blvd and then enter the theater. Doing all of that in a 1/2 hour is pretty much impossible.

On a few occasions it can be done but with Fantasmic being the last of the three, I don't think it's possible. Last fall, there was about a two week period where all three were an hour apart with Fantasmic being first. Anyways, with the times set as they are, you could be ambitious and do Illuminations and Wishes. That's very feasable but you still have to haul butt while going to/getting on/transfering/getting off monorails. In all honesty, I'd save Fantasmic for a night when you can spend the time for preshow and get a good seat.

Hmmmmmmmmm....

Now ya got me thinkin' - not always a dangerous thing!

The more I read these posts, the more they sound like a challenge!

WOOHOO!

Actually, I make it a practice to hit Wishes and Illuminations on the same night whenever available, but never thought about adding in Fantasmic.

The more I think of it, the rush would be too great and the time too short to use WDW transportation. Plus, with needing all planets to align just right, the window of opportunity to succeed at viewing all three shows in their entirety is just too small.

Oh well....the seed is planted..........
