Fireworks dessert party - diabetic special request?

My husband and I are doing the fireworks dessert party at MK on our trip in July. He is a type 1 diabetic, and I did not think to make a request at the time of booking, but when reading reviews later I THINK I read where someone had made an accommodation request for the party and were provided with diabetic-friendly desserts at the party. I'm thinking of calling and adding this request to our booking. Has anyone ever made such a request, or do you think this would be a possibility?

I don't think I've ever seen diabetes listed as an official condition that Disney will make accommodations for, and we can usually manage fine since he has an insulin pump, but dessert is obviously a different story.

My daughter is a type 1 diabetic and we have attended the party several times. I initially made the notation on the reservation because she is allergic to all tree nuts as well as diabetic, and they prepared her a FANTASTIC large tray of desserts geared toward both disabilities! In fact, hers looked better than ours!

Diabetes is a condition that Disney will make accommodations for at its restaurants. I wouldn't see why they wouldn't do the same for a dessert party. I would mention it at booking for sure.
