ORLANDO, Fla. -

A ride malfunctioned at Walt Disney World on Thursday, forcing firefighters to remove stranded guests.

Reedy Creek fire officials said 12 guests were helped off a raft on Kali River Rapids at Animal Kingdom.

No injuries were reported.

Disney describes Kali River Rapids as a "rip-roaring, river raft ride that takes you on a tour through a lush jungle landscape."

Disney officials told Local 6 that the river was being drained and the ride would later reopen.

No other details have been released.

This is really only news for people who aren't in the loop on how theme park rides are evacuated. Sometimes ride vehicles stop in places that Cast Members are not able to assist, or a guest with mobility issues is unable to walk under their own power. If either of these is the case, Reedy Creek has to come and assist.
