fire alarm gone off

All of their fire pull stations require you to break a glass panel to activate it. Much more inconvenient than when I was in elementary school, which probably reduces the false alarms. And fire alarms are pretty sophisticated systems these days. Depending on what sensors are triggered it may only activate a silent alarm to the fire department. I'm not sure what happens in a multi-building resort but I was at a Best Western once where somebody burned toast at breakfast and the desk clerk had about 30 seconds to key in a silence code on the alarm panel before it activated all the lights and sirens.

A few trips ago (2011) as we were heading up to our room at POFQ we heard a fire alarm going off. As it got louder I realized it was coming from our room. Small moment of panic but I opened the door and there was no fire. I had to call down to the main desk with the alarm going off in the background. They acted like they didn't know it was going off but you would think that it would alert someone.

We were at AKL two years ago on honeymoon and it went off the final morning of our stay. We had NO IDEA the alarm had sounded as it was only in the main lobby area of Jambo.

Would they even have the loud alarms in the parks? I would think that would create a dangerous situation with panic and alarm from people looking out for Number One. They probably have a more silent alarm and evacuation procedure in place.

We experienced fire alarms being set off twice in the middle of the night while staying at our resort. Turns out it was pulled by a group of teens screwing around. No one thought their prank was funny. Dont know what the desk manager ended up doing to them but we received a sincere apology for having our sleep interrupted.

It was at universal. We were eating breakfast at the Royal Pacific yesterday, and the alarm went off. It was weird through, since we were about to leave, but no one seemed to really care, and people kept taking pictures with Woody Woodpecker and eating.

In August I was having dinner in Epcot at Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles during a huge thunderstorm. The building must have been struck by lightning because there was a very loud bang of thunder and bright flash of light from outside. Instantly, the alarms went off and automatic rolling doors descended to close off the food area(kitchen) . Some people were trapped inside and had to exit through side doors. Everyone continued to eat and shelter from the storm with the alarms blasting away. The cast members did not seem to know what to do. After about 10-15 minutes they asked everyone to evacuate the building in case something had caught on fire.

I accidentally burnt toast at Old Key West and we called the front desk about it. Sounded like they really didn't care.

But seeing the fire alarm video at the Land makes me wonder 'what about more exits.'
