Finishing the Fantasyland overhaul

I think this is great! Honestly, and I rarely say this, but I really don't think I would have done anything differently! The ride sounds great, well done!

2) They DO budget properly.

If I recall correctly, Universal Creative gets things done at roughly the same quality in shorter periods of time for substantially smaller budgets. Their model is built around efficiency. If WDI were to restructure, we could see more expansion more quickly without Disney spending an extra nickel, but instead, Disney blew $1.5 billion on glorified RFID and FastPass. Holy slow website and technology that's already on my smartphone, Batman!

1) It was my pleasure to correct for you.

2) They DO budget properly.

$100 million on a clone of a glorified C-ticket dark ride, while a game-changing E-ticket at Uni cost $90 million (FJ) - I know the FJ show building is visible, but I'd rather have a great ride experience than a pretty exterior. \

Substance over style is always king

Show building showing is bad show. (Wow. I abused that word.) However, that doesn't change the fact that Universal is doing more with less.

While I'd like them to finish the side of the building in a HP Phase 3, it's not a big deal to me since the Hogwarts queue and ride itself are phenomenal.

On the other hand, the Little Mermaid ride at MK is beautiful on the outside, but pure vanilla on the inside

Excuse me, could we keep any and all discussions of Universal out of this thread? Thank you.

Many of my ideas right now are kind of murky because I keep trying to take physical space into account. But anyway, here's something else I would do with Fantasyland: the Mad Tea Party.

Here the ride will be improved drastically. First, the canopy roof will be replaced with something not nearly so tent-like, probably some structure that resembles huge hedges, not unlike how it was presented in "Alice In Wonderland".

But that's not even the half of it. I'm thinking about doing this ride with different designs than usual, because those teacups designs they have right now are SO 1970s. I was originally thinking about just duplicating the Disneyland teacup designs, but then I thought of doing the cups instead as more like the characters from "Alice In Wonderland", with the characters' color schemes and little pieces associated with them (i.e., the Mad Hatter's 10/6 tag, the Cheshire Cat's grin, etc.). Something like the picture below:

As you can see, there is an idea for the cup with the Cheshire Cat's grin on it. Maybe the one with the green-colored stripe could be themed to the Mad Hatter, with the 10/6 tag on it.

I also noticed that the carousel and now Dumbo have panels that depict scenes of their respective movies ("Cinderella" and "Dumbo", obviously) adorning the central areas. So I decided that the Mad Tea Party, also a spinner ride, should also have images of this kind, too, obviously themed to "Alice". One piece of artwork would show Alice meeting the Cheshire Cat, another the Unbirthday Party scene, and so on. But what should they be, though? One obvious one is the tea party scene, as I said, looking like this (but more rendered like for Dumbo):

I feel like I've seen this before...was it in designing a new MK and epcot for you?

But thats not to say it wasnt a good idea, its pretty cool and I almost completely agree

I think they should put a Sleeping Beauty ride in the old Snow White building. Then move Philharmagic to either Town Square theater or Animation Courtyard at DHS and put The Legend of Sleepy Hollow in that space. Finally my idea for a Frozen ride replaces the circus tents. The big sign for Storybook Circus also goes in this scenario with the circus theme now limited to Dumbo and Barnstormer. I don't know what would be done with Casey Jr. splash zone. Peter Pan and Pooh get much needed updates and Mermaid gets the same treatment as the one in DCA.

It was, along with a bunch of Imagineering threads I've contributed to. I'll be putting up more ideas. I repeat myself a lot because I like what I wrote. Also, in my plan, Storybook Circus will remain, but it will now be de-annexed from Fantasyland, making it its own land, and in turn bringing the land roster back up to seven. This also makes the Magic Kingdom the only Disney theme park not to have Dumbo in Fantasyland, just Disneyland is the only Disney theme park not to have Pirates of the Caribbean in Adventureland (but in New Orleans Square instead).

I was originally thinking of keeping Mickey's PhilharMagic, but now I'm having second thoughts. I think I will scrap it completely, neither moving it to Main Street nor to the Studios.

I thought so.;)

I think the land seperation is a good idea, infact I've always wanted it that way---since I recently found out it actually was not its own land.

Mickey's Philharmagic, I think it should stay. Its a nice, different touch to Fantasyland, a great show IMO, and is a nice relaxation/something for everyone to enjoy.

Agreed. Philharmagic should stay where it s.

I was pondering a dark ride themed to "Mickey and the Beanstalk", but I really haven't got a lot of space to work with. That was one reason why I was thinking of removing PhilharMagic, so I could put it over there.

Another reason is I'm told that the theater wasn't very well built. The theater was built to accommodate 500 guests, but the preshow area could only accommodate 300.

And what did you think of my idea for the Mad Tea Party?
