I did not have to place my finger in the scanner until I went though the gate, my wife did not have to do this because we paid for her ticket. How did the CM know to ask for my finger scan and when it is not needed?

Your Bone Scans are stored nowhere on a Disney Server, they are stored on the ticket itself. Also the CM knows to have you do a finger scan, as it is encoded on the ticket itself and the turnstyles tell the CM on their screen if you need a scan or not.

It is a bone scanner. Why? Because when my sister was still a little kid and growing, they had to 'memorize' her signature again since the bones have changed.
