From undersea to the treetops, Nemo's new theater has been topped off (meaning it has reached the highest point of construction). An American flag and a small plant were placed on top of the structure:

I always wondered what the "Christmas Trees" were for. Now it makes sense! (Well, wait a minute, I guess it doesn't make sense still, but at least I understand that this is a ritual! )

I love the small plant up top!! I'm so excited for this show, although I will miss Tarzan Rocks!

I totally agree. I LOVED Tarzan Rocks! It was my favorite stage show at any of the parks. The rollerblading mokeys were the best!!

Um, have you seen the actual show?

The set looks amazing, the songs are great, and if that doesn't matter to you, AK is getting an enclosed theater, something it desperately needs for the hot summer months.

They put alot of thought and time to make sure it comes out right. They have the right people on their side. I'm so excited for this, and I'm sure it will turn out great.

I knew about flags being placed on construction but not plants??? Does anyone know the origin of these traditions.??

The new theater might be nice, yes, but from that one video of the performers singing the main song, it just seemed a little, well, bleh.

you really shouldn't judge until you have had a chance to see the show.

I believe it's because the ritual is known as "tree topping". By putting a tree on top, it gives meaning to that I guess.

That video had nothing from the show except ONE song in practice mode. It's not even the final actors... why judge the show by that?

Geez... at least wait until it's done and you've actually SEE the show before you trash it.

Sure, for all I know, it could be good. But what its looking so far isn't good.
I really have to disagree with you here.

The only issue I have with this new show is the same I had with Tarzan: Its location. I don't think any of the shows that have played at TITW have quite fit into the Dinoland theme.

Other than that though, I have no idea why you'd say this show isn't looking good. As was previously stated, the theater is being enclosed---meaning we will be able to enjoy professional sets and lighting (not to mention a comfortable climate-controlled place to sit back and enjoy a show.) It also sounds like they have quite the creative team working on this, so I look forward to seeing how they make it all work visually-speaking from sets to costumes. Finally, I too watched that video and think the song sounded great... dare I say of broadway caliber. It was a neat song, and you have to consider the fact that the performers had had ONE day of rehearsals. No it wasn't a flawless performance, but again, ONE day of rehearsals. I imagine they will both look and sound great by their first official performance.

Good question (I had to Google it). The dad's name is Marlin.
