Okay, this is truly a minor thing, but when at the MK recently I happened on Cinderella's Golden Carousel and found that the outer rows of horses had been augmented with staircase stirrups, to provide better comfort for children of different heights.
I thought they looked a little strange at first, but they're actually slightly more sophisticated then the old cast iron loop (which the inner horses still have). I have no idea how long they have been here, since I'm not on the carousel THAT often. Anybody know when they added these things?
Here's a close up picture. I did a post on parkeology.com that also shows a side-by-side shot with the inner horses.
