Congrats. One suggestion I have is pick your restaurants NOW!!!!!!!!!!!! And make your ADRs at 6 am by computer or 7am by phone at exactly the 180 day mark! Have a magical time!!!!!!!!!!

^^ This! Especially if you want to try to get into the new Be Our Guest restaurant. I would also note all the things you are celebrating on all your reservations: resort, dining, etc. Because of the new website, you'll have to call to add these things, but it's definitely worth it!

Thanks everyone...Yes I am a planner..learned that 5 years ago. Already have my spread sheet with the hours and extra hours for each of the parks. Probably just doing a Chef Mickeys for the kids birthdays. We enjoyed it when we were there for our first visit, i even have Minnie singing happy birthday to my son Noah for his 1st birthday on video! Love the 10:30 -10:45 am reservation ...having a light breakfast and big brunch!. We will have a car as I prefer to drive to the parks most of the time. We have never seen most of the resorts (expect all around the MK) Is it worth going to just see the Animal Kingdom Lodge? Can you see animals from the hotel? or just the rooms?

Still no luck?
No, we tried right after we booked our March trip in February and nada (which being only 30 days out wasn't a shock) but then for fun tried booking out as far as was open for ADRs (which at the time was August) and there wasn't a single day. I even called because I thought maybe it was something wrong with the online systems. Not a single dinner opening... well, for a table of 3 at least.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ THIS!!!!!!!!!
LOL no point... we aren't going again any time soon (maybe mid 2014). Like I said, we checked the full 180 days out to see if we just had bad luck in trying 30 days ahead of our trip or if it was really that crazy booked. Was sharing my story as a note to you @sandheichert so if you can't get in you weren't shocked. :D

Yes, it's worth a trip! There are multiple viewing areas of the different savannas around the resort, and the dining options there are great. Bring some binoculars and plan to spend a couple of hours there.

Ahh! I visited the first week of December this past year and had a nice time! It can get REALLY busy though. Avoid MK on whatever day they have Magic Hours (because as if they weren't already normally busy on that day, it was PACKED because of Pop Warner!), we went back on Tuesday or Wednesday (I forget which) and it was so much better!

Enjoy your trip!
