Wondering if anyone else has heard this rumor. Supposly, this could be the final year for "Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party". They Will still have "partys", but with a new name, and whole new concept. And hopefully If this is true, they will can the God Awful, Celebrate the Season.....which i am clearly not a fan of. However, Possibly one of my Favorate shows "Twas' the night before christmas" Could go with it. Any Ideas???

Nope... hadnt heard this one. I guess the decision will probably be financially motivated as to whether or not it would continue. I cant see DIsney stopping something thats a financial success.

(And dont give me any of this commercialism & christmas stuff, CHristmas has been commercialized since the days of A charlie brown christmas)

Finally a rumor that I hope is really true! :sohappy:

The quality of MVMCP has gone wayyyy downhill since the mid to late 90's -

Yeah, yeah... I know the party has a far higher attendance now than it did back then - but back then I didn't have to wait in line to see characters, the sugar cookies were excellent , and there were no creepy crawlies in the cocoa!

Thumbs up for a revamp ... and hoping the powers that be wise up and make it a smidge more exclusive again!

As a cast member who usually works the parades for MVMCP I haven't heard this. I did hear last year was the last time for some of the shows I know for certain they said Twas was in it's final year and I heard mention of CTS going down. Not because they were cancelling the parties mind you but to make way for new shows. However, both shows are back again this year from what I know so who knows what's going on.:xmas:

Celebrate the Season... well.. with Disney's overemphasis on cultural sensitivity and political correctness, it's probably not so much a Christmas Party as it'll more than likely be a Kwazy Kwanzaa, Happy Channukah, Ragin Ramadan, and Merry Xmas Party

did I miss any holidays?

aw, i love the very merry christmas party. it's not as cool as mickey's not-so-scary halloween party, but i love the snow and the parade and the fireworks.

Yeah, I would not be surprised if it ended up being just a plain "Happy Holiday" party! Which holiday?

Disney was more fun when there truly was diversity, and not just bland, lets-not-offend-anyone celebrations!

A Christmas party is a Christmas party. Putting Christmas stuff up and calling it something else is even more offensive in some ways.

I hope they keep MVMCP and just keep the entertainment fresh.

I also wish they would go back to the LIVE Christmas parade on TV on Christmas Day. They were more fun and festive than the pre-taped stuff that. It made you want to be there NOW when it was live!

I CANT AGREE WITH YOU MORE. Thoes who worked or visited last december are aware of the 12 hours butchering and the dealying, and the Retakes, and worst of all regis's snotty attudies and outlashes.(I do not like him)

Also, When they do the Parade Live, they actually show the parade, unlike the last couple years where its just a huge commerical, no vocies and 25% of the floats. So i second showing the parade live, or at least taping it live
