Illuminations - I`d reccommend chatting to the CM manning the roped of viewing area as you enter WS directly from FW - with the American Adventure directly opposite. Great symmetry (especially when the lasers come on)
I`d also pick somewhere around Norway, and in the region of Morocco /France / Gateway. The former should give a good view of the first launch without too much panning, and the latter a good view of a) the SSE / wand lighting going out on cue and b) the earth globe coming to life and starting its journey across the lagoon.
I promised myself on our next trip I`d a) do one show purely tight in on the earth globe for its duration, and b) know before hand the order the countries light up in to be prepared! Oh - you`ll also need a good wide angle lens for the high altitude pyro (that most videos miss without a rapid tilt upwards)
For Wishes, I`d pick the centre of Main St just outside the Hub for the castle to almost fill the frame (framed to have the Fantasyland pyro just all in shot) Then I`d go for a wide angle in the hub slightly offset from center - some not-so-high altitude pyro launched directly in line with the castle can be hidden by it. A third angle might be right of the castle, to get alternate shots from this side, mop up, and get closeups of Tink, the castle gobos, `wish` rockets etc...
