I have heard the upstairs at JIYI is now an area for sponsor (Kodack) special events, receptions, etc.

When there in June I tried to get a look but the steps were ropped of, the escalator and elevator were locked out.

umm upstairs of the imagination building was empty for most stuff ...they used it for cast functions around xmas of last year...................

no, they used it daily for the "Millenium Parties." They were private functions (don't know for whom though) and they had full catering, music, and characters (Buzz and 2 Green Army Men).

Nope This is not at all true... Parts of the Dreamfinders dirigible can be found in MouseGears and a lot of the equipment responsible for the lighting effects on the old ride, can be seen on shelves in the line area and on shelves in the ride itself...

I can think of quite a few parts that probably would not have survived the dismantling process either

I've been told by several employees that the upstairs section still has all the old Image Works attractions, just turned off. I think that they should turn on the stuff up there again, just to give people some extra stuff to do at the park.

I was up there weekly throughout all of 2000 and the entire upstairs was set up for conventions (Read my previous post)

October 8, 2001 JIYI is closed for it's rehab. however the shop will remain open. As for upstairs I've been up there it is all torn up many of the kiosks and things are just kind of laying around very tempting just to take something! When they use it for conventions parties etc. they put up blue curtains over the entrances.

to add to the many questions about this newest version...any news on what will be done with Image Works (or whatever it's being called now). And PLEASE tell me they're going to repaint the outside of the building...it's hidious!!!

The CMs there are not going to know the official reopen date, as even management dont have it nailed down precisely. They have a target date, but as we know with any project, that can move forwards or backwards.
