Figment Merchandise.....troublesome

I am not sure if you guys have noticed yet, but there is a Figment breakfast even coming up in September to feature a new WDCC Figment piece, in September three will also be a Disney Pin Event with a Dreamfinder and Figment framed pin set and then there was also the "jumbo" pin of Figment and Dreamfinder released last fall.

It really bothers me that Disney exploits the dream,finder characters and Figment characters yet "honors" them with such a sorry excuse of a ride! I mean, I guess they are just taking advantage of us who still have an emotional connection (because I am certain to buy some of these items). But do new generations of kids care about Figment? Or is Disney just milking these characters as long as they can while they still have some life?

Sorry to ramble....just wanted to mention l of this while it was on my mind.

Um, personally, I'd like to see more Figment merchandise. Especially when Dream Finder is included.

I think new generations like Figment. They don't know what "was" of the ride, so they have nothing to compare it too.....but they like the new ride anyway. Figment's cute, cuddly, and the epitome of Imagination! What's not in that for kids to love?

Where did you hear about the Figment breakfast....I'd like to hear more about that.

Interesting... that breakfast would be an ideal time to reintroduce Dreamfinder IMO.

I love figment merchandise! I wish there was more of it!

Does anyone else have one of those giant ugly foam filled figments that have been on clearance for at least a year now? I think I got mine for like $8 or something. My son loves it!

By the way - my 3 year old hasn't a clue who Dreamfinder is, but he adores Figment. He is deathly afraid of all the characters at Disney, freaks out if they get too close, but when he saw the giant Figment he ran right up and gave him a hug!

i definitely looking foward to Figments pins. and i think that even though the new generations don't remember or know of the original Imagination!, the merchandise will be welcomed. this makes me want to unearth my plush Figment from the late 80s.

I'll admit that I've never been on the "old" ride. I didn't even know who Dreamfinder was until he was mentioned on some thread here and I ended up searching for him. So, for someone who has grown up without the ride and without Dreamfinder, I don't really think I'm missing anything spectacular (cause I never experienced either). I guess I just don't know what I'm missing? More Figment merch would be cool, though.

That really hit me as funny! Some of you guys really scare me. Exploitation?!?!

Attempting to make money with their characters should always be Disney's number one goal. You do realize that Disney is really a business, right?

What's the big deal? Disney exploits all of their characters with tons and tons of merchandise, that's what they do best. Why should Figment be any different. If people are willing to buy it, who cares.

Can't agree with you more, Grizz. If I can see Dreamfinder, I'll be happy with any merchandise with his face on it.
