So I guess no one shares what I think, which is okay, but just assume you wanted to make Figment look a little more real, you would add a little texture, add a few boney features possibly interpreting the lines you see on Figments horns and hands as various bone joints and well that is pretty much what you end up with.

I think it does look like Figment a bit. The ribbed horns, the purple skin with pink underbelly, and orange-like finger nails. If it is not supposed to exactly be Figment, I think it's safe to say that the Disney artist drew inspiration from Figment. :)

well seeming as us crazy europeans dont even no of figment - i highly doubt it is. It is more likely to be a characature of the dragon under the castle. To fit in with the rest of the floats...

There is certainly NO REFERENCE to figment in the rest of the park... so how people would be able to make the association when they dont know of the character is beyond my comprehension ;)

Sadly I believe the attraction is long closed now from what I recall.
Terrorism fear if I'm not mistaken?

Never been closed other than from maintenance as far as I know, was open and popular in December when we visited last - we are going back next month, will have a look again to see if its open!

I go along with the inside joke theory. Clearly there are similarities and it looks more like figment that say Pete's dragon, the dragon under the castle or Malificent. We all know what kidders those imagineers are..

The last float has a replica of the Sleeping Beauty castle in 'crystal'! 15 years is after all a Crystal anniversary. The dragon is sat under the castle and is supposed to represent the dragon that sleeps under the castle at Disneyland Park.
