Festival of Fantasy audio underliners

I have never heard any underliners for Festival of Fantady during the parade like I did for all the others, so as far as I can hear either they do a really good job blending the audio unlike Spectromagic and MSEP or the unit and sound audio is the same or at least changes for every single unit. I know that dragon isn't pumping out all that audio for it's part of the parade.

I don't know the specifics but I heard much talk in interviews when it opened that they upgraded the sound system and the floats are all GPS enabled so that when a float approaches an area, all of the area speakers pick up that floats soundtrack. I don't think FoF has an actual underliner track like other parades.

They did a lot with the parks audio system for the parade, including I believe, the addition of so called "micro" zones to very specifically target audio playback.

I notice the sharp transition between unit where it used to fade in and out when the units went by. I'm going to get slammed for this but back in 2010 they weren't using the underliner for the finale and played the same audio on both the units and route speakers. I only noticed it once, they must have been testing the system. I have video of it somewhere to where the units were far enough down the route where you wouldn't be able to hear it and only the instrumental underliner.

I thought so, Now if they can just do the same for the Main Street Electrical Parade so we don't have to hear that terrible washout underliner blasting over the unit music.
I disagree. Just balance the audio properly.

We're in danger of loosing the underliner totally.

So they would just do away with all the onboard audio and I totally agree, it's terribly unbalanced in many areas, the birdhouse speakers across from the bell are overkill, I never knew how many underliners they switched thru since I sat there.

I'm saying it isnt good enough to work without float audio.

Spectro had a terrific underliner. It's float PA was good enough to work with the chime section. RIP.
Feel free to correct me but it seems to me the units arrant so capable of carrying the sound of the newer music.

They're designed to compliment each other (PA and float audio) - missing either would be noticeable.
That's the truth, well if that happens I hope they at least modify the music to sound. Better because what they have now wouldn't sound right and wasn't meant for the newer system. There's something about that old school underliner and onboard audio that the newer stuff just doesn't live up to. The newer music for the parades lately doesn't do it for me either. I think there's way to many vocals.
