Festival Bay isn't too hot..... All I know that Festival bay is getting a Ron Jon surf park which looks pretty cool. But construction has not started yet but it says opening in early 2005. Two new restaurants have opened up Caddyshack and fudruckers. But I still like it for Ron Jon :sohappy:

All the Pointe is trying to do is trying to stay in business while the mercado is going out of business. Here's a list of directories

Ya Pointe Orlando was a nice place, and it is still nice, but without FAO Schwatz that whole section near it is lost. I haven't been to Matrix or Metropolis in years, it used to be my favorites. Might check it out after New Years.

My kids want to go to Pac-Man Cafe for lunch tomorrow, which is fine with me. Personally, I really like going to Dan Marino's Town Tavern because the food is fantastic there. Also, when Brenda was down here to look at houses with me in early November, she asked to go to Hooters and our waitress was a real sweetie. Now when we go there, we try to get the same waitress.

Went to Pointe Orlando today and found out from a CM at the Disney Worldport store that as of next Friday, that store and the others in the forward stretch of stores(the ones located between the now abandoned FAO building and the Pac-Man Cafe) will be closed and demolished. This will open up some space facing I-Drive so they can plant some trees and make a nice little plaza. Kind of a bummer since I liked looking in there at some of the stuff you can buy in the parks if you don't have the time to go over to the parks themselves. :(

As far as I know, those stores are just gone. They may relocate to other parts of Orlando, but in the case of Disney Worldport, it is done. The CMs are being relocated to other merchandise areas, such as Merchant of Venus.

Pac-Man Cafe has good food. I went there once prior to yesterday and got the Macadamia Crusted Mahi which was excellent. This time I decided to try one of their pizzas and got the taco pizza, which was good. My wife got the cheeseburger pizza, which wasn't bad, but when they say cheeseburger, they mean everything you would get on a cheeseburger, including chopped pickles, so the flavor was thrown off slightly by that, IMO. The good thing is, every meal an adult buys, makes for one free kids meal, so our two kids ate for free. The do offer a special deal on the cards they use for the arcade upstairs if you eat at the cafe as well, which is pretty cool. I think its something like $5 off the price of the 2 hour game card.
