I haven't been to the site in a while. I have to say, I really don't like the new look of the boards. Visually it's great. Unfortunately it takes way too long for each page to load. I probably won't be back to visit these boards since I really don't have five minutes for each page to load (with a cable modem). Also, after a couple pages, my computer freezes up. I'm hoping this problem gets fixed so that I can visit the boards again.

Well, that did work at first. Now I either have to refresh each page because all that loads is the main banner (it stops and says it's done loading) or I have to wait several minutes again.

I'm not using the express and have a cable modem- no problems here and the pages load very quickly for me.

I wonder why there is such a difference...? Then again I know next to nothing about computers. Maybe somebody else will have an idea.

I think you may have a problem with your PC there. What version of Windows and what browser are you using? Thanks.

Hiya Erika. Your experience would be pretty typical for the majority of users. With a relatively new PC (less than 2 years), a reasonable high speed connection (cable, DSL etc), each page on the regular style should fully load within 5 seconds. Express style would take off between 1 and 2 seconds.

If someone is using a high speed connection, and they are seeing page loads of upwards of those times, it indicates one of 2 things..

1. the internet connection may be theoretically fast, but due to their ISP or some other problem, the connection is performing badly.

2. the PC used to browse is either too slow to render everything on screen in a timely fashion OR the computer has a configuration or some other software problem.

For dialup users, if they run Express style, page load time should be in the region of 10 - 15 seconds.

None of the other Disney information sites seem to cause a problem. I'm using Windows 98 and Internet Explorer.

Everything works great for me at work or at home. I do have cable modems in both places. The express version loads a couple of seconds quicker than the regular, but overall never takes more than 4 or 5 seconds to load. If I may make a suggestion, there was a problem with Windows 98 and caching of the pages. Mary Poppins: You may want to try to clear your cache and see if that helps.
