Feedback wanted on July Itinerary

Hey Folks,

Just looking for some feedback here, specifically for those of you with younger kids. The girlfriend and I are taking her 7 year old to WDW the week of 7/7. Knowing the parks by the back of my hand and knowing how insane the crowd levels could be, I am all about making an itinerary, so, here's what our plans are....wanted some feedback. I APOLOGIZE for the all caps but when writing it, I didn't think about how it would look posting it on a board.

Note - We've omitted things we aren't sure he would want to go on yet, i.e. Rockin Rollercoaster, etc. since the trip is about him. If he's up for it, we'll see then. (We're not telling him we are going until the 4th of July, so he doesn't know yet)

You may be out of luck for fastpasses in the afternoon for these, maybe...

TUESDAY JULY 14TH
CHECK IN MAGICAL EXPRESS LUGGAGE

Will the concierge hold your carry ons? I always check my carry on's with bell services....unless we are talking about the same thing...

Girlfriend is a 5th grade teacher. My hands are tied on that one. trust me, I know July is gonna suck in terms of heat and crowd size, but I have to make do with what we can work with. She is literally working until 6/29 and has to return the last week in August.

Hey Joe,

Yeah I know the FP thing will be a slim chance. Basically, I'll put them on line for Character Connection and then see what shakes out. If not, then we'll hit them during Extra Magic Hours.

I mean bell services, not concierge.

Mike,

I think you have great start. My family of 4 have been to the World during the july 4th holiday and it can be exhusting.

With that said it all starts with making the reservation and then sititng down looking at the park maps and deciding on what you really want to see. Then also deciding on eatting plans. Once you get those basics you can just know you have plan and let the magic happen.

My DD was 7 or 8 when she was able to ride like RoC in DHS, she loved it. They will check your child at the entrance of the ride as far as height. So just work up ot it, becasue I know the yrs prior when we were like we are going on Roc & she could not get on was a disappointment.

I also see some time out and away from the parks is a great idea. I watched the travel and one of the segments on Disney was them saying allow the kids to suggest something they want to do, like ride bikes in the parks, becasue they still need that normal routine of their lives and that Disney can be a visaul over load.

Oh one other thing that pops in my head. Being July take the rain ponchos.

Yes, the front desk will hold luggage for early arrivals, so you can get to the parks and enjoy. Not sure if you saw the thread of where the resort will notify you cell phone when your room is ready.

For Fastasmic get there at least and hr before the show. Unless you have the resturant that does dining w/show.

Thanks. All our ADRs have been made for 2 months and we were able to get all the dinners in the 4:30-5:30 area, which is what we wanted.

With the exception of our first day, we specifically want to have a 1-2 1/2 hour break for resting.

I am most concerned about the population in the parks but with the exception of our arrival day, we will be at the parks way before the rope drops, I can assure you that, plus we will have extra magic hours to play with as well.

He's already 50 inches so he'll be able to do any ride he wants, but I don't know if he's up for crazier things yet. He's shied away from the roller coaster at Sesame Place, which is nothing, so best to let him go at his own pace. Our plan is more to leave the major things for the grown ups for extra magic hours on nights where we will have a sitter for him.

Ponchos are already in my carry on, where they reside all year. :)

Thanks again!

Michael
