Camden at world gateway is not bad. Not amazing, but not bad. nice well kept apartments with decent management. location is a HUGE plus. But if you're looking in that price range, check out Mirabella (formerly emperian at world gateway). My sister lived in Camden (and lived there when it was the alexan) and before we moved out of emperian, we convinced her to move into our apartment, and she LOVES it. We had a great 2/2 w/2 car garage, for 1270 a month, 1st month free. the complex feels more "villa" style than most complexes as far as the architecture. Crown molding and baseboards are nice too.Hey all-
I'm trying to apartment shop from 1000 miles away, and was wondering if anyone knows anything about these places in the Orlando area:
-Camden World Gateway
-Vinings at Westwood
-Discovery Palms
-Bimini Bay
Thanks!

Discovery Palms is not bad. Not amazing, I would never recommend buying one, but the price is decent for that particular area, which is being built up a bit too. Close to publix and shopping, a slight bit further than camden or mirabella, but the apartments themselves are ok. Well kept, but nothing amazing or outstanding.
Really? So you know Debbie lol, she's interesting. Sweet, but interesting...I live in Mirabella. I checked out Camden, Parc Vue/Alexandria and Mirabella had the best deal. We pay $1210 a month for a 3br/2ba, and it comes with a washer/dryer and free basic cable. It's quiet, and I really enjoy it here. Plus, it's 5 minutes from the Disney gates.
If you take I-drive to 536, then yes. If you attempt to take 535, then NO WAY IN H... BTW, Mirabella only leases the ones NOT owned by a condo owner. I would drive around and call some of the numbers on the signs in the windows, as you'll be calling condo owners and may be able to negotiate a great rate!I gave Mirabella a call today, but they don't have any one bedrooms available right now- sad! I would have loved free cable! (I've pretty much resigned myself to having to give up Stewart & Colbert for the forseeable future.)
I'm leaning towards the Vinings at Westwood. It's just south of Sea World, and Mapquest claims it's 11 minutes from Downtown Disney- anyone know if that's realistic?

Someone should tell the owners of buildings 12, 13 and 15 that then...Actually, signs are not allowed in the windows here. But definitely check the classifieds or craigslist.
Has anyone heard of any feedback from The Legends at Champion Gate ?
Why does it seem that every single apartment complex in Orlando have low scores from apartmentratings.com ?
But you also have to take the tolls to get to Disney if you live in Hunter's Creek. I used to live with my parents in Hunter's Creek and it took me about 30 minutes to get to MK, and I had to use the tolls. The first exit off of the 417 is I-Drive. You're better off living somewhere closer. Mirabella and Camden are 10 minutes (not even) from the Disney gates.
30 mintues?!?! WHOA. It takes me about 15 tops to get there from where I live. I'm 5-8 minutes from the entrance to WDW. We timed it out when we first moved there. It takes a little longer to get to AK though...probably about 20 mintues, give or take.
The first exit off 417 is def World Center. I-Drive is there, but the road you exit off on is World Center, which turns into Epcot Center Dr if you keep going straight.
Yeah the tolls suck, but thank God for a Sunpass that I do not pay for. lol

LOL-Im from Pennsylvania and im moving to Orlando permenantly in a few months and chose Hunters Creek because it is so close to WDW and you couldnt get a straighter shot into Disney-one road and you're there in 10 min, and the $1 toll each way isnt too bad with a sunpass. There are other ways to get to Disney from there, still making the total trip less than 20 min
5-8 minutes? I'm near the Gaylord palms, and i'm 5-8 minutes. I lived in the Vistas, and if I had a shift at 7:30am I would have to leave at 6:15 at the latest. Plus, why would you pay an extra $2-$3 a day on tolls when you can live somewhere a little closer for less money? I had a sunpass too, and my parents paid for it, but if I had to, i'd be broke. Plus, it takes more gas to get out that way and back.
