February 2017 Trip

The dates will vary depending on what you are booking. Are you looking at room only? Tickets? Package with meal plan? If room only, I believe its 499 days in advance. Tickets only, you can buy at any time as the expiration clock does not start until first used. As for packages you would have to wait till next summer for package prices to be release.

Thanks! I guess it will be a package. I normally book the MYW Package w/Dining Plan. Are there any benefits to booking room only? Is there an opportunity to upgrade (room only) to a package in the future when the package pricing is available? What are the pros/cons? I appreciate any help given!

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Yes you can always add tickets/dining plan, etc to a room only later to make a package. Benefit to booking a room only early you know you definately get the room you want etc for sure unlike if you wait until the packages are out which will probably not be until summer 2016 when they release the 2017 prices. If you want to book room only now you would have to call and cannot book online being that is over a year away etc but you can definately book 499 days ahead but have to call. :)

You can always upgrade to a package later as long as your room/hotel choice is included in the package. Port Orleans and Art of Animation tend to be limited if included at all.
One thing to keep in mind when booking this far out. When you do add a package at a later date the package price will be at the room price at the time of the package and not your locked in room rate. Prices get a little funny when you book things then make changes after a price increase. We booked a package in Feb for Oct. When promo's came out in August (after the price increase) we called to have the promo applied and found out that we would actually pay more to add the promo due to increased room, ticket, and meal plan prices. :(

To clarify ANY room you can make a package. Only for offers/discounts as she mentioned, sometimes certain rooms etc are not included. But you can always make any room on property a room that includes tickets or tickets/dining just can't get discounts on every single room/package on property. They do not exclude rooms not included in discounts from adding tickets or tickets/dining to turn into a package. Hope this made sense. :)

Crazy! Thanks for the info. I will probably wait until the packages are released. I haven't had any trouble booking what I like. I just wanted to make sure that I booked when I can and not after the fact. Anxiously awaiting the 2017 packages! We hope to go the last week in January through the first of February. I'm hoping the crowds during that time frame will be tamer than what we experience 3 weeks ago! That was CRAZY!

See my most recent response you can add tickets/dining to ANY room only to make it a package etc. You just can't get discounts offered on just any room on property. :)

Is there a real benefit to the meal plan? I booked a package with room and tickets so that I could pay the package off over time, but I felt like the meal plan really wasn't worth it. We rarely buy snacks there, we don't drink sodas and we tend to like the higher end dining experiences. Thanks in advance!

We love it but it's a pure personal preference. We purchase it every trip. And no we don't get it for free and never have as that was never a better deal than room discounts for us and now we belong to DVC so we have to pat it in full when we add it.
We also like the fine dining as well and use our dining plan to eat a numerous Signature restaurants on property as well as regular table services we love too. We eat at a table service every evening and do some select few for breakfast on 1 or 2 days. And eat at a quick service for lunch each day. We pay our cheapest meals OOP if we don't have enough credits for all our table services. We mainly like the pre paid aspect of it but have saved money as well.
Every family has to weigh the pros and cons and see if it's right for you. :)
