Aside from taking an online course, I forgot to also suggest this tidbit.
If turbulence really freaks you out, just pretend you are on a bus. Buses tend to be way bumpier than even a very turbulent flight and yet somehow in the air it seems so much scarier because you don't have a reference point. Consider that if you were moving that way on a bus it would still be a really smooth ride... which equates to knowing that you actually aren't moving around as much as you imagine to be.
