Favorite WDW Spots for Holiday Card Photo

Last time we went around the holidays it was really too late for me to put together holiday cards with a WDW photo...well, at least when you consider I had a trip report to write :D, gifts to buy, and a house to decorate. Well, this time we're going just before Thanksgiving, so I'm trying to come up with the good spots since i think I should have enough time to incoroprate it into a card.

I'm going to attempt to get several contenders at different spots so I have a variety to choose from. I don't see us heading to WL this trip so that's out and I'm pretty sure the MK tree won't be up at this point, but everything else is a possibility. Right now my list includes the following: Castle w/Dreamlights, Epcot Tree, AKL Tree, DHS tree, Osborne Lights, GF Tree, GF Gingerbread House, BC Carousel, maybe the CR's gingerbread tree and attempt something w/the MouseEar wreath at CR. Anyone have any others to add to the list?

Also, what are your faves?

Our favorite holiday photo was at MNSSHP with Cinderella's Carriage. We haven't made it there for Christmas yet! Good luck finding that special photo spot.

I love the Castle w/ Dreamlights shot. There's a spot (I think it's by the bridge to Liberty Square) where you can get a picture of the Castle and the reflection of the Castle. That and the GF lobby are probably my favorites.

We visit WDW in Sept so our holiday card pictures don't have a Holiday feel. I have 2 favorite spots, there is one at Animal Kingdom where the snowy peak of Expedition Everest is the Background, and the angle like my Avatar picture, The back of my daughters head and the castle. She has red hair so you know who it is, last year I put this picture on the back of my Holiday card and everyone got a kick out of it. I'm all for the non traditional picture angles to spice up the mundane card.

I'm really hoping to make it there at some point for MNSSHP. We LOOOOOOOVE Halloween, so the thought of going to a big Halloween party really appeals to us. It's just so hard with school schedules. Oh well, some day. :)

We have used the Osborne lights and I like how it has turned out.

It's funny b/c I adore Osborne Lights. My biggest issue would likely be the crowds, but our DHS night is an EMH night, so maybe things will thin out later on in the evening. We have a 6:25p at 50s and are hoping they add a 2nd Fantasmic on this nt like they did last year. I'd really love to get something like the shots below with lighter crowds w/the family.

I think I know exactly where you're thinking of and we have a night where we'd definitely be approaching from that direction. We have a 5:50p at LTT one night and will be heading back in that direction for MSEP & Wishes...so that would be a good time for us to try that. I agree on the GF...it's my fave of the trees. Due to the size of the tree, it may be a good option if I pick a card format that allows for multiple pics.

I can totally see how the snow at EE would work. The pic of your daughter is very cute. The red hair really makes it pop. I have one in the same vein as that w/DD5...

...but I never use it for anything since I don't have DD3 in that one. Still, a reflection shot like this with any kind of holiday decor could have possibilities. Good call!

Last Dec trip they were also taking pictures over where they did the lighting ceremony, in front of the toy soliders. In that location it is just your family and the lights, no crowds in the shot.

There is also the old standby of the Goofy snowman by the Christmas store in DTD. And I would assume that at least 1 of the Santa locations should be up and running. DTD was Nov 19th last year, and even Santa Goofy may be around in AK at that time. You could also do something with the toy soliders on Main Street.

We used the Christmas tree in the 50s Primetime with the TV next to it as background for our card. It gave it a nostalgic feel, people kept asking me where I got the vintage ornaments!

Lots of great ideas there! We have also found various Christmas displays around which are great for closer family shots. Also, the characters have their Christmas outfits on, making a lovely holiday picture.

Make sure to put some on here!
