I know. I looked at moving there. My point is, that your idea of expensive isn't quite what ours is.
Don't know about that.Ive a brother in law who lives in Los Angeles, altho Texan born, likes his " Best bang for his $$$ " ;) At a up market restaurant in Venice beach area,he opted for the cheap 3 course set menu ( $40 ) my 3 course meal came to $130.

The reason I wanted to move there, granted 4 years ago when the exchange rate was far more in your favor, was that I could get comparable work for the same "relative" market rate, and yet when converted to US savings, was actually a massive profit here in the states. The only reason I couldn't leave was my kid...though her mom and I had several serious discussions about it.

As our currency levels off, that incentive no longer exists.

We always go a little crazy buying Mickey/Disney items for our house: coffee mugs, picture frames, dishes, pillows, etc. We love having those little Disney reminders around. We also like clothes - but we like clothes 365 days a year, so that's no surprise for our family. The fascination with home decor though is unique to our Disney trips.

Home ware! I don't even have my own house yet! Me and my mum always get mugs and i usually get a cute tea cup to display in my room. I've just got a puppy, so no doubt i will be searching for Disney pet ranges to spoil him with! ;)

1.T-Shirts (which I always buy at the Disney store before my trip, when they are on sale)
2. Snacks (I dont go cheap on snacks...worth the price, in my opinion)
3. Christmas Ornaments (the price is not that bad, considering it is a special memory to put on the tree every year)

Probably a signature dining experience and splashing out $250 on a meal for three of us..Thats about £180 in our money. Then there's gratuity on top of that.  For a Scotsman, that's a heart stopper, there goes my high blood pressure..

I know what you mean. On Sat. we are eating lunch at Canada for our beginning of summer vacation. I know it is going to be expensive but I am still going to try and enjoy a big ole' steak.

For my daughter if she is good for the whole trip she gets a new Minnie. She has over 20 now.
