Didn't get any of the scenery from around the resort last year. Hopefully I'll get some this year. I've also noticed that I don't have any of the main building.

I stayed at the Villas for the 3rd time last month. My wife loves the Epcot area, so we're staying at the Beach Club Villas in July, but for me, nothing beats the atmosphere, feeling, theme and food of the Lodge. And the Villas are absolutely beautiful.

Why do I love it? No other resort says Disney to me more than the Contemporary. Where others see cold and sterile, I see an icon for WDW. Where others see no Disney details, I see Mary Blair's mural and am reminded of how her art impacted Disney parks, films, books, etc. in so many amazing ways. I think of the opening ceremonies I've viewed with Bob Hope in the lobby. But most of all- it's my first resort...even if it took years to stay there, one of my strongest Disney memories was that first monorail ride - that one where you're like "Wow! I'm on a monorail and I'm actually going to go through that hotel!"

Thanks! I liked the rooms before the refurb, but they were VERY outdated. I liked the resort more for the ambiance. But since the refurb, I absolutely LOVE the rooms, and I love the resort even more! I loved having a corner room, too; it's the first time I've ever had one! It makes the entire room feel bigger. Plus, it's so much brighter. We were supposed to get an Alligator Bayou room, but we were pushing for a Mansion room (which we had requested). After a while we finally got one. Best room I've ever had!
