Favorite re-make of a WDW/Disney song

It's long been a practice of Walt Disney to allow contemporary artists to re-record popular songs from their films and attractions. On almost every Disney animated feature soundtrack since Eisner took office you'll find an altered version of the flagship ballad of the film, like Celine Dion's version of "Beauty and the Beast" and Disney is always releasing special CDs like the IMHO abominable "Disney Mania" collection where several artists get a crack at re-imaging the songs we all know and love. There have also been a couple CDs where popular artists have tackled songs from the parks themselves, like 1996's "Music in the Park" CD and many songs used in the park are either public domain or previously used, so we have many versions of something like "Ghost Riders in the Sky" or Phil Collin's "True Colors".

So, my question is, what's your favorite "alternate" version of a Disney film or park song.

Yes, the BNL version of GGG is perhaps my favorite remake of a Disney song (that was produced by an entity separate from me;))

It's not a specifically WDW song, but if I had to choose just one re-make of a Disney song it would be the Gypsy King's version of "I've Got No Strings" which is faster, darker, and in every way better than the original.

Stay Awake

I enjoy a CD that came about fifteen years ago called Stay Awake, with James Taylor, Suzanne Vega, Bonnie Raitt, Ringo Starr, etc etc that has some good tracks.

I like Raitt's Baby Mine, the Replacement's Cruella DeVille rocks, but the surprising winner would be Sinead O'Connor's poignant Someday My Prince Will Come...

/Stay Awake

The credits are incomplete on the above link, there's more names you might recognize on this CD than what's listed.

Don't forget Buster Poindexter's rendition of "Castle in Spain". I love the sinister, sleazy energy of that track. On the whole though, Stay Awake is just too frightening. It's just TOO far removed from the overly-sugar-coated collections like "Mad About the Mouse." There was one small cut on a track that used electric guitar to play the jaunty flight music from Dumbo, but the rest wasn't my cup of tea.

I love Linda Rondstats version of "When You Wish Upon A Star". Ive always loved her voice, and she does a fantastic job with the song.

I also like the Gypsy Kings version of "I Got No Strings". Really great remake!

I actually got the DisneyMania CD and thought it wasn't bad. My favorites were You'll be in my Heart by Usher, Part of Your World by Jessica Simpson, and Bauty and the Beast by Jump5. I do remember Mad About the Mouse, but I wasn't particularly fond of any of those tracks. I did like the Cinderella albulm they put out for the 45th Aniversary of the film a while back, especially the version of "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" by Linda Rondstant.

I have to say I'm really feeling Smash Mouth's version of "I Wanna Be Like You" and Hilary Duff's "Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room." Never heard BNL's GGG, but I'll have to check it out!:drevil:

"Music From the Park" is the CD that has BNL's version of GGG on it. This CD was from last millennium (seriously!) but you probably will be able to find it on Amazon.com or on any number of the small Disney merchandise websites, or sitelets...

I have the 'Disney Mania' album which is 15 classic disney tracks by various artists.

Anastacia - Some Day My Prince Will Come
A Teens - Under The Sea
Usher - Youll Be In My Heart
NSYNC - When You Wish Upon A Star
Ashanti - Colors Of The Wind
Smash Mouth - I Wanna Be Like You
Jessica Simpson - Part Of Your World
Aaron Carter - I Just Cant Wait To Be King
S Club - Can You Feel The Love Tonight
Baha Men - Hakuna Matata
Hillary Duff - The Tiki Tiki Tiki Room
Jump 5 - Beauty And The Beast
No Secrets - Kiss The Girl
Christina Aguilera - Reflection
Ronan Keating - Circle Of Life

My favourite is track one, it starts off with an old, crackily version of 'Some day my prince will come...' before braking into a really soulful version by Anastacia.

Is "Music from the Park" the only dedicated Disney Park tribue, or have there been others.

Also, with Disney music in general, what all has been released over the years? The ones people have mentioned so far are:
Disney Mania
Stay Awake
Disney does Country
Mad About the Mouse

Are there any others?
