Favorite Place to watch MK fireworks

What is your favorite place to watch the MK fireworks? We usually take a spot in front of the castle to watch the parade and wait for the fireworks, but are there some other, not so well-known places to watch and still get the show? How soon do you need to get there?

In my opinion the best viewing angle is along Main Street. The show was designed to be viewed from there, and the fireworks appear to be coming from directly over the castle. If you view from oneside, it destroys that illusion. Main Street also gives you the best audio, as you are in the middle of a great sound system there. (although I still wish the MK would crank up the volume to something more like Epcot during RoE) :D

You can see Tinkerbell real well if you go to the back porch of Cosmic Rays facing the Castle. Their were only a few other people out on the porch last time I went.

i've watched the fireworks twice now out on seven seas lagoon. my friend robyn was a life guard at the wilderness lodge, so we could take the boats out for free. so we did it a couple times towards the end of our college programs... you can see every firework and even see tinkerbell fly (if you got decent eye sight). and it's weird, but you can also still hear the music pretty well. like we could tell when the little mermaid music was playing. after getting a little bit tired of being all disney all the time, this brought back the magic for us. afterwards we docked at the poli and hung out on the beach. watched the castle change colors and stuff. it was fun.

For me one of the best places is from the top of the contemporary either on the observation deck or in the Californian Grill, of course you can't see Tinkerbell, but you can't have a gin 'n' tonic on main street either:animwink:

The restaurant at the edge of Tomorrowland... to the right of Main St. What is that? Tomorrowland Terrace... I think. Whatever the name, you get a clear view of the Castle. Tink flies right at you, and sound is good.

Dunno about how soon you need to get there. That depends on a lot of factors; mostly on the day's attendance. Rule of thumb, see what's available 30 minutes before hand.

Would agree with all of the other postings as well. Each spot has its special benefits. Only thing is, I would avoid the hub, where trees block the view of the fireworks.

I have 2 favorite places. One is in Frontierland by the water, because the reflection of the fireworks really adds to the show. Plus, the parade viewing is alot less crowded. Another great place is the bridge leading from Main Street to Tommorrowland. Tinkerbell flies right over your head, and you still have a great view of Cinderella Castle.

I'm going to have to go with Beauty and say the observation deck on top of the Contemporary.

I know that they put the music in the California Grill, but do they play it on the Observation Deck?

Correct. I have a real problem with that name. One time, I signed up for a cross-u at Plaza Pavilion, then showed up at Tomorrowland Terrace (now Cosmic Ray's, right?).

Maybe what mixes me up is that another "Plaza" restaurant is about 200 feet away.

Anyway, thanks. The point is, the fireworks view from there is pretty good.

No.

Just go all the way up to the Cali, leave the elevator and follow the wall all the way around to the right (past the desk, and through the dining area).

There's 2 decks, so make sure when you leave the elevator, go to the right (only way to go), then take a right at the dining area. If you go the other way past the cooking area, you'll be on the other end from the MK.

Then, my suggestion, walk all the way to the end of the deck. This way, you can look right down over the MK with no visual interference.

Although, I prefer to dine, then watch the fireworks. :D

My new fav place to see MK fireworks isn't in MK. It is the beach at poly, on the second hammock to the right. Our last trip there was in December and there was a MVMCP almost every night. We didn't pay extra to get into the parks everynight, but got a great view to see the fireworks and it is a nice way to end the night. Also it wasn't too loud so it didn't scare the baby (she didn't even wake up most nights.:) )
