Favorite drink at the resort?

Speaking of WDW bars, has anyone here been to the new Trader Sam's at the Poly? I'm curious to know what it's like.

I've been to the outdoor section. That's the only place where you can order what I had, a Spiky pineapple. It's got a dole-whip flavor to it with alcohol in it. It was very good.

Have you had the Kate & Ella at Napa Rose Lounge? One of the bartenders there told me about it and it is DIVINE. And named after the two sisters whose boulevard runs just south of DCA.

I haven't, but it's now on my list. Thanks for the tip!

What a wonderful topic for a thread!

When I think "drink" and "Disneyland", I immediately think of the Carthay Circle Manhattan. And yes, Constance, that's the one with the big ice ball.

Napa Rose Lounge also does great cocktails. And wine selections. And their cheese plate is always perfectly curated.

That's one thing Anaheim does much better than Orlando. Any cocktail I've had lately in any of the "Deluxe" hotels at WDW was like something from a 1990's fancy hotel in Anytown USA. They just don't have the artistry, the ingredients, the showmanship that Disneyland Resort's flagship lounges and bars do.

WDW has mostly gone the way of the resort wide common specialty drinks. Many of the resort bars used to have their own signature drinks, but it is cheaper to hire less experienced bar tenders to make common drinks from an ingredient list. The food has been becoming more diverse as of late and maybe the cocktails will go that direction.

That Carthay Manhattan looks good!

Well that's too bad. Wasn't there a restructuring in the leadership of the hotel division at WDW last year? Maybe that will lead to some improvements.
